I overheard that comment, he offered you an extra two quid off and then made his ill-advised quip.
I'm not being funny here, but I was really surprised by the strength of your reaction - do you get a lot of crap for being Scottish?

am fed up laughing off crap like that . as would anyone else , i dont think most english people see flippant comments based on long gone stereotypes as racist , but it has many underlying tones . "tight" is something that particulary gets to me , as do the words "jock" or 'sweaty" anyway we resolved the issue !
the reaction maybe wasnt helped by the fact i had a coffee two minutes earlier (double shot) . i returned and apologised for overreacting too !

Dont think you really over reacted. You seemed to hold it together.
On a lighter note. Good to put a face to a name today. Nice to meet you and hope to see you out and about again soon. Have a good evening

Dont let it bug you. I used to, now I dont - much less stressful.

Bloody hell it was busy today! Good to see so many forum folk down there, unfortunately that meant I was a busy bugger and didn't get to chat to most of you!
Lovely to see you all though!

Cool, I'm glad you got it sorted out! I'd bought a set of cranks off the guy just beforehand. Typically, my effing bottom bracket's too short, so I'll have to jumble them on to someone else.

What a great place to hang, my resolve to return without shinys was a hollow promise broken to myself...
Mmmmm, shinys. -

Which guy are we talking about? The guy in front of the entrance selling lots of geared stuff? That's Lee, he's a cool guy... He helped me kit out my Colnago a few months back...

I'll be there on Sunday and have this for sale http://www.lfgss.com/thread55993.html

I'll be there on Sunday with various bits of old tat, have got a vintage? sugino 48t chainring and an original 1970's woollen TI Raleigh World Champ jersey (as worn by Gerry Knetemann)...amongst the "jumble" though.

I'll also have:
pair of "rare" German artistic bike 26" tubular wheels with wooden rims and matching 24" sprocket and lockring (which won't fit standard hubs)
one pair of cinelli criteriums
a used PLASTIC Brooks saddle (not B18)
assorted jerseys, caps from new to worn, books, tubs (new and used), new wall mounted bike hook, tees, worn twice swrve 32* jeans, sidi shoes (43) with red look cleats, courier tat,
first 20 or so purchasers get free used bonk bag
off to check the attic.
Not very helpful, but I bought exactly that rim to the first jumble, sold it for £30.
Wayne, if you are coming do you fancy bringing The Item with you?
