  • Don't be silly, I didn't have him on ignore.

    ok..

thanks, and sorry for making such an assumption, however...the way things have been the last few days...I wouldn't be crazy for making one.

Like calling gravity a 'magnetic' field eh?

  • phew that was close

  • I wonder if magnets (as in metal things that paper clips stick to) fall at a different rate from a big tower than non-magnets?

Only if you butter one side and tape a cat to the other.

thank fuck someone else saw that?

    the curry cat carpet combination?

  • Like calling gravity a 'magnetic' field eh?

    No...

I stand by that and challenge anyone here to prove me wrong, people are baying for 'evidence'..

And I ask for the same, like I said ...if gravity was as we say it is...that funny giroscopic thing when you wave a drill around woulnd't happen...

There is no such thing as gravity, well not as we know it anyway.

  • ..hmm

  • This is getting more complicated than spin theory... I'm off to get some work done...

    Spin theory explained.

    Spin to win.

    Not great in politics.

  • ..hmm

    Great alias....

  • No...

This is not how knowledge is accrued. The process is:

Gather evidence -> create a predictive theory -> make a prediction -> test the prediction by experiment.

It is by that process that the scientific community has arrived at the conclusionthat gravity does, in fact, exist.

Note the difference in the above from the process that you are espousing:

Make a claim -> challenge others to disprove it.

  • Great alias....

No, he's been lurking for a while...

  • I was pondering your theory and decided I would do a bit of research. I did what any scientific researcher would do and texted 63336 with " Is gravity and magnetic fields the same thing?" to which they replied " No, magnetism is attraction caused by a net electrical current running through an object; gravity is a force of attraction between all objects with mass". Make of that what you will.

  • No, he's been lurking for a while...

I guess that's all he's capable of considering the circumstances.

  • I would go back to the time when the roads around London were being built/planned and convince them that their new roads need to be wider, by an extra carriage!

If that didn't work I would make the equivalent to the Hummer Horse Cart, and sell loads of them so that they would need to make the roads wider.

Then hope when I come back to 2010 I have nice wide roads in London to cycle on!

  • All we need now is some sort of Sarah Palin argument on why we should/should not teach gravity in our schools.

  • I stand by that and challenge anyone here to prove me wrong

What would you accept as evidence against this idea ?

  • No...

What do you say to Mashton's point here ?

  • Popcorn MKII, bring it on....

  • 'slain where's that level 10 pic you used to post?

  • This is very mosquey.

    I like.

Occam's razor would dictate that actually it's because the drill bit is not a uniform cylinder.
