  • If your going to get a rucksack get a Banjo bro's, great for the money, comfy and huge.

  • the two best bags i've seen are Chrome and this one.

regarding chrome, anyone that says it's not the best bag made is just trying to support the local bag maker and/or go against the grain. it's the best bag made. just make sure you get the correct direction, as the they can only be worn one way. does make for a very comfy bag, but if you buy the wrong one it takes some adapting.

these are the only two bags i've seen that are actually cut to go over a shoulder and sit up on the back.

  • me too. If it is, i stop pondering getting a grobag and stick to what i got

  • okay... the chrome bag...
    is indestructable...

has perfect pockets.... including tool wells. Has a cool secret pocket for storing drugs.

is designed to hang a certain way on your back.... It's not just a square chuck of cheese.

has an under arm strap that actually works, making an arm hole small enough to prevent the bag from moving. If you don't like the smaller hole, there's a second clipping location which places the strap where every other bag maker thinks it should go.

has a flap which folds down in such a way that it's waterproof without the need for zippers.

tons of color and size options.

has the smartest full velcro accessory strap i've seen, preventing anythign from sliding around.

doesn't look like a techy sack someone might be using to carry camera gear.

But the real reason is that its the only bag that has a strap that has any thought put into the way it comes off the bag. literaly every other bag i've seen is just a square sack with straps coming off the top. Show me a bag with a better strap system and i'll be impressed.

  • I like the chrome, only had mine a month or so, but I have carried a weekends worth of stuff including laptop and camera with no problems

  • Why did you delete that post AG? It was completely reasonable..

  • i will admit i'm a bit jealous of my brother for having the Cocotte. It's beautiful.

  • I could just post your comments for you.. I love arguing. :)

  • I'm going to eat my words.
    bagaboos workhorse are sweet.
i didn't realize they were the ones doing that X strap thing. I am familiar with it.
those are super fucking tight bags and i'd take one over a chrome any day of the week.
i'll place that at the top of the three.... Bagaboo, Chrome, Cocotte
fail on my part, but i admit i'm wrong.

  • I have both, but the Bagaboo does it for me!! Nice materials, custom made, smaller company, not American and comfy (go for some extra options like padding in the back)..

But the ones Snoops makes look awesome, i would def. check them out!

  • i used a bagaboo 15 months couriering - it broke. my friend still uses his chrome he's had for years. i'd get a pac if i had the money.

    How/where/why did it fail?

  • ^the bottom stability strap just ripped out of the bag while i was riding. i have heard that they weren't using strong enough cordura and that they have now changed this. pike got a fancy custom bagaboo that pretty much fell to bits on him, which was hilarious, because he's a tit.

  • hmm interesting - it looks like they are attached in the seam allowance rather than being flag stitched or bartacked onto the actual main body. I doubt it was down to the fabric - more than likely it was because of too small a seam allowance and or insufficient stitching of the attachment loop - but without taking one apart its difficult to tell.

  • yes the strap was sewn into the seam. nothing was really ripped, it was just that thread in the seam broke. the bag was from 2008, they might have changed it by now

  • With Bagaboo you can get any design on it so you can get something unique to your tastes. Not sure if other manufacturers do something that bespoke.
I find the strap that goes over the right shoulder isn't terribly comfy as it is too close to the neck but I may be doing something wrong. Anyway, it isnt essential to use.

That's really quite poor for a bag maker charging that much. Doesn't take much to realise how weak a seam like that is

  • Well, from a distance the x strap iswas interesting.

I like my workhorse, but with any kind of load in there the x strap does feel like it's gonna cut my head off.

Just couldn't wait for a grobag, or I woulda done.

  • I'm pleased with my 2nd hand Bagaboo, comfy fully loaded and wearing well. One of Scott's creations would've been top of the list at the time though if money weren't so tight.

  • well archie's seems to be the best there is.. so waiting till he updates his site.. so i can see the gear :)
else... i will be off the hungary in a few weeks.. so i can visit the guy who makes the bags.

    thnx for all the reply's!

  • Not sure if I'm hijacking as still about bagaboo bags, but has anyone tried their hip bags cos i want something to carry my inner tubes, etc, when just riding about and a rucksack or messenger gives me a sweaty back. Plus the other hip bags i've seen are out of my budget.

  • Bagaboo are well made bags.

  • bought a showroom model bagaboo.. fairly cheap.. and i love the design of the bag!..

    thnx again

  • I should like to know if anyone has a Chrome Berlin? I'd quite like one, I think. Got a Kremlin at the moment and would like something similar but capable of taking larger box-shaped objects (the Kremlin's huge but quite flat).
