Did anyone watch 'Robert's Webb' after Peep Show? What a load of shit that is.
-
• #33
really? didnt bother with it, everything I look at on internetz is covered by wasted at work

I would, drink it.
I once accidentally did. My mate's wife would freeze the stuff in ice cube bags. I think the idea was that it could be defrosted and used when she was out of the house?
Anyway, the gin and tonic I made myself tasted funny. I commented on the novel taste, and after a few awkward glances back and forth I was bent over the kitchen sink for the next 10 min. -

Did anyone else just see the first of Frankie Boyle's new series?
abso fuckin lutely , ha . That knight rider sketch had me curled up, "windows KIT" , quality realisation of an idea and yes Robert Webb's Web was an awful dose of musty under the tap smell. That filthy waft when you are washing your teeth and go to the tap for a rinse, your nose protrudes outwards towards the underneath of the tap and the overflow then baaaam! fierce whack

Just starting now on 4od.

I must confess to being very disappointed by franky boyle, i think all the sketches were far to drawn out. That green mile one seemed like it was flogging a dead horse by the end of it, he needs to stick to his stand up and steer clear of sketches. As for Robert's web middling at best, the entire thing is reliant on the researchers so the presenter could be any one really...

A couple of them were shit but I thought the show was pretty good on the whole.
-
• #43
I think the sketches should be more like his jokes, sort sharp and as offensive as possible. Hopefully they'll improve as the series develops.
-

^^ definitely agree on the Green Mile sketch, the Knight Rider had bits o hit n miss but balanced out (for me) with fierce funny bits. I do hope it improves and sharpens itself aka 15 storeys and Sean Lock (but everyone knows they were perfect! ) . Sometimes it's like he is trying to be offensive for the sake of it because of his reputation which is a funny thing to say bout Mr Boyle but it felt a bit like that, i hope he wears the paedo beard for an episode or two.

I enjoyed the Frankie Boyle show, he's been writing for TV for years longer than he's been on it himself.
I think a lot of the sketches are re-hashed from when he was writing stuff on drugs, that might be why they seem slightly drawn out.

Tom Stade and Jim Muir (Reverend Obediah Steppenwolf III) both made appearances (and writing credits) in Tramadol Nights, but they couldn't save it from being shite of the highest order
-

Ep2 a bit better than Ep1, but I maintain Peep Show lost it's way after 4 series.

Saw the first 5 mins of the Frankie Boyle show, just slagging the mouth-breathing audience. 1/10.

Frankie Boyle show was shite. Weak sketches, and the poor-taste gags don't have the same effect in a stand-up format.
