hmmm; i don't think this latest is the most sensible or suitable tag - to be honest with you

if it's within Brighton itself then I think we can discount Stanmer Park; to my mind that leaves:-

• woodlands around Hollingbury Golf Course, inc. Wild Park
  
• Hollingbury and Bursted woods
  
• Withdean Park
  
• woodlands above playing fields in Patcham
  
• Three Cornered Copse (runs from Hove Park to top of Dyke Road)
  
• Withdean Woods (near sports complex)
  
• path running from Walpole Road to Whitehawk Hill tv mast
  
• woodlands around Lower Bevendean
  
  

plus probably more.

@capcap @WroSS @Dogtemple (+ others who want to get involved) - we could divvy up the work maybe?

or would we even be able to recognize the location when we came across it?? frankly, i'd be happy to settle for the first person who posted a path running thru some woods ;)

It's certainly a challenge! I'll have a mooch around, see if I can find something similar this week. Might have a look around the manor house at Preston Park too

Withdean Park has a long path that runs more or less its whole length, on the north side. I used to go up and down there on my old Marin mountain bike 16 years ago. Wouldn't have got it without the clue though. Wasn't too hard to find the exact spot, what with the lump of old tree on the path.

It's on the grounds near a former lodge, school and convent. Nowadays though you might find yourself feeling more zen.
