My sincere condolences go out to David's friends and family.
David came over as truly kind and gentle fellow. On the Tweed Run 1 I offered him and Bruno 'stabling' for their supremely fine bicycles, at my house, during the drinks party. They came in and charmed my little lad (David gave him some cufflinks!), and I realised once more what a great, friendly and trusting place the forum is.
Thanks Bruno for a very fitting tribute to your friend. I hope to see you on a ride very soon.

I'm too busy these days to look at the forum much during the day, so I didn't see this thread till today. I'm genuinely sad at his passing.
I met David (and Bruno) at the Prince Arthur before Tweed Run 1. He was a really nice bloke, on a bloody lovely Hetchins as I recall. I saw him again on a fair few other rides, and it was always a pleasure to see him again. A real gentleman, of style and great humour.
Bruno, if you're coming on the compass ride/to easts tomorrow we'll have a drink to his memory.
Fellow forumengers, prostate cancer is a very common form of the disease and can strike any of us, but caught early it can be successfully treated. My father is in remission after spotting the problem early and getting diagnosed and treated quickly. If you're not sure all is well with your plumbing don't delay - see your GP.

Hi all,
My name is Sophie, I am Dave's daughter. I am so overwhelmed by this thread. All of your kind words, stories and pictures...what a wonderful thing to have found.
One of my favorite rides with Dad and Bruno, was when we all met on Brick Lane at 3am (obviously for some Bagels!) and cycled to the top of Primrose Hill just in time for sunrise.
Three years have passed and I'm cycling to Paris with five friends in May, we will be wearing Dad's vintage jerseys and I am cycling one of the Colnago's he built (Bruno is helping me get it ride fit again!)
This thread has more info or the ride and the charity we are supporting:
http://www.lfgss.com/thread104843.htmlThank you all again so much, I cant tell you how much it all means,

I just thought this might be worth adding in here
Hello all
Posting here on behalf of some very close friends of mine who are about to cycle to Paris to raise money for 'Everyman Male Cancer Campaign'.
They are a group of very close friends, one of whom's Dad unfortunately passed away from Prostate cancer three years ago. Its a very real cause for all the males amongst us and something that can be drastically reduced if the right early intervention strategies are put in place.
The Dad was a keen and active user of the forum, there's a memorial thread for him here:
http://www.lfgss.com/thread44217.htmlIt's a really good cause and they definitely appreciate all the support they can get, be it technical or actual sponsorship.
More details can be found here: http://www.justgiving.com/430LondontoParis
Or on Facebook at:

All your support is much appreciated.David is very much missed at forum events, it still feels odd to bump into Bruno on his own. When I first became part of the community they were both seen at nearly everything I went to.
I hope the ride goes well.
