Walked in sat down, don't think they do reservations. We were cold and soaked.
Raclette was very nice and cauliflower fritters were lovely, mrs jaw had beef cheeks for mains and pate for starters. Just really good honest food. The wine is the main draw though. Plenty of choice by the glass if you want to get merry. -

Has anyone tried the set lunch at Dinner by Heston Blumenthal?
Looking for somewhere to take moogette for her birthday
-

Not done the set lunch but L&W took me there soon after it opened. We still talk about the sauternes sauce for her tipsy pudding. Save your pennies and get the sommelier to make some recommendations.

It's very nice, I will be going back there, just don't think it's better than the Ledbury for example

Went to Story last night, 6 ppl, cocktails and 1 btl wine - £90 each.
10 course menu (£65). Bitterly disappointed.
Bread and dripping ain't a course.
Great nibbles.
Very nice scallop sashimi & then a beetroot dish.
Amazing lemon desert - highlight.
Hideous mackerel and strawberry with seaweed.
Poor raw onions, apple & gin & thyme consume.
The mash and separately, the Lamb were ok.
Prunes, lovage and milk - another weird-ass combo which didn't work
3 bears porridge needs more cook-time on oats, tasted fine.Girl on reception was wanting to ride, I referred her to us on lfgss ladies forum. ding!

Dissapointed to read this, as I have just booked a table for June.
Have been riding past every day since they started the build, anticipating something good. Must admit, the girl who took my booking, while really friendly put me off a bit by harping on about 'new cooking techniques'.
Chef's these days seem much more interested in playing about with gadgets, rather than learning how to cook, developing a palate and serving great food.

Yeah sorry, I do feel bad you read it before going.
I decided to go in with excitement and anticipation, and without seeking what others had said and then reading reviews. Here's a critics review if you do decide to read it...
http://www.standard.co.uk/goingout/restaurants/story--restaurant-review-8585563.htmlI think she was bang on.
PS don't bike park around the back of Story because you can kick the poles loose.
