Woodrup tended to have their name embossed in the seatstays - other than that it's a good match.

Pennine used a more swept 'leaf' on the top of their chainstays, like most of the great manufacturers of the era - the frame in question uses a far smaller one, almost a cap. Can't recall seeing that style anywhere before!

Yup, I can. It's the red coloured tubular metal object holding the outlying parts together, towards the centre of the bike.
Other than that, I think you'd have to do a concentric ring-round with the numbers. So many frames of that era look so similar, and so many makers changed the key details with frequency. Looks a lot like some similar aged Woodrups, and not a lot like others.

Seems like Klein/Fisher in the early 90's! The 6003 bearings should be the same too.
As far as I remember, there must be two "seegger" clips to hold the bearings in place, they come off with a small flat screwdriver -

Please help.
I have an old frame that has been resprayed at least once. The sticker on the front suggests it to be a "1st Champion" however after searching LFGSS and on Google I have found nothing so it seems no such company exists. Anyway, hopefully you can reveal its true identity if it has any pedigree at all (I doubt it as some details look quite crudely made)
Some parts included (whether original or not I dont know) :
Weinmann brakes
Freccia D'oro Saddle
Shimano Altus Derailleur
"CB" Stem
Cranks have a small "R" in a red circle on them.Thanks.

Also it seems there are a few similar threads but everyone just seems to make their own for each individual bike so I followed suit. Although I did look for another exisitng thread none seemed appropriate.

Less "bump" more a gentle nudge back up.
Also, I think the R is probably a sign that they are Raleigh cranks.
Might it be a raleigh bike? -
• #684
it looks like my mates new sun /sunn ??? frame, made in birkenhead by sheep shaggers, it might not be tho but id say it doesnt look like a raleigh

looks a lot of bike for £150 ding.
what wheels are those?
-
• #689
dunno, but it looks suspect. As you say a lot (too much) bike for the money...
Oh hold on - those wheels might be off a unipac, the spoke pattern looks familiar...
-
• #690
the wheels look 27" to me, or is that just because the frame has a big rear end?!

was having a mooch about my LBS/bike scrap yard and have seen a promising looking rusty old beast.
Trying to identify it.
Frame is dark racing green, black weinnman side pull brakes.
the chain set seems to be a mixture of "suntour" (cranks) and the rear tensioner thats shimano 600.
theres no labels on frame and lugging looks pretty standard.
I'm wondering is it a decent raleigh, frame feels like 531. Had a look on sheldon but cant see anything.

picture??
sorry but are you dumb? could be any frame you moron
-
• #694
could it be any frame equipped with black weinnman brakes and shimano 600 rear/suntour cranks?
All those parts look original too, I would have thought that was pretty specific, the dark racing green looks original too.

There is a tin in my food cupboard with no label, says 23.10.2011 on the bottom. Any ideas?

• #697
It is cannelloni

Oh... I have no fucking idea then/
Could also be a Pennine - they were good 531 frames local to the area - Bradford...
