  • How long is it?

Bit of a personal question don't you think?

    The post is 300mm.

  • I'll give you 20 quid for it.

  • It appears to be most likely a super record seat post but there aren't any which look exactly like it so far in my internet search.

I'm not interested in selling it.

Also, being 26.8mm how would it do in a 27.2mm diameter seat tube? I can't seem to find any shims which will fill a gap that small. Any advice?

  • It's probably either a Euclid or Centaur one from their MTB groupsets. They didn't make road ones that long until very recently.

I think they are quite sought after these days.

  • Perfect for Corny!

  • 28 pounds? I have been after something like that...
Shimming 0.4mm is doable, but you won't be able to buy a shim that thin.

I may be tempted if I can find a similar seatpost for that money. I'm after something silver and 27.2mm. Ideally I'd like an NJS post but I'm not holding out. You know of anything?

  • I've got an itm millenium white carbon post. 27.2 unused.

    Logos will come off.

Sell it, sell it, sell it.

  • I'll swap with a 27.2mm aero Campagnolo seatpost if it helps.

  • Can offer a 27.2 Miche Supertype in silver if you're still considering options.

  • .....the Campag. Super Record post was redesigned and manufactured without flutes around 1985 and continued in that style until the new C-Record groupset arrived in 1987

how much for the miche seatpost ? very nice !!

  • Hi, just bought an old 70's geared bike and would like some help identifying the parts that are on it. Mainly the headset and chainset, plus the front mech if you know!
    Pics below:

It also had a super record rear mech, record hubs, campag levres, pedals, and quick releases - so a nice little bundle! Any help much appreciated

  • when you say HAD what did you do with the components?

always sounds worrying when somebody says HAD in reference to something that is very nice

  • Oh, I mean have! It's complete! Also got a 70's cinelli unicantor saddle (dark green padded diamond stitched leather) cinelli stem and cinelli mod giro d'italia bars and Aristophe toe clips. Was intending to use the 531 frame as a basis for a fixed project, but dropouts are pretty vertical.

    It's literally mint condition.

  • Thanks for the linky dmczone - very helpful

  • Anyone know anything about these rims....pile of poop or worth keeping? never heared of em, they came on my beater project bike that im slowly doing up.

  • hmmmmm, just seen this harry quin on ebay

  • I would say it is from 1947 or 1957 the last 7 means the year

  • A quick and (hopefully) easy question to get answered.
