  • where can you buy it?

  • rather scary is the fact that b and q sell it.

  • You don't really need gloves, you would need a hell of a lot, left on for a very long time to really do your skin any damage. I used to do furniture renovation when I was younger and spent hours covered in the stuff, never did me any harm.

Must be a different formula, you have 5-10 seconds from Nitromors hitting the skin to getting it off, my advice would be to run to the nearest source of water and rinse.

I have a scar on my left hand from a Nitromors splash which I managed to get off within a few seconds, burnt like freaking hell.

Goggles is probably a good idea though, although I never have.

Must be different stuff you use, it would be silly not to use goggles as you can very easily scar your cornea.

If you had spent hours covered in Nitromors, you would have little skin left, no joke !

    :O

  • Goggles + Gloves.

One splash in the eye can cause scaring, not nice.

I got a bit on my face once and was VERY scared!

Just the regular one, http://www.focusdiy.co.uk/invt/993104 burns a bit at first but never really bothered me. Stripped some forks the other night, guess I must just have weird skin.

'Nitromors is methylene chloride based, and is a de-fatting agent, so though it stings when it gets on your skin, it's not corrosive.'

  • i used nitromors and i got it on my hand, but it didnt burn that much TBH :S

I certainly didnt think it was worth running to wash it off i just carried on

    i must have bionic hands.

  • Could anyone shed some light on the maker/builder of this frame before it goes to the sprayers?

    Steel (obviously) and light.
Has been poorly painted and Bob Jackson's (JRJ) confirmed it's not one of theirs.

Frame no. 881 only found on rear offside dropout;Nervex stamped on b/b with fancy lugs; drilled for front brake only; no rivet holes for headbadge on headtube;round profile forks.

    Any info appreciated.

  • Firstly may I say hello to you all and that your help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.... I recently got a Columbus road frame from a pal and although it looks pretty good and weighs little I dont know who made it!!! all I know is again that its Columbus, it has Gipiemme drop outs, A Bocama BB and is painted in Fluorescent Pink and green with white in places. I just want to know who made it! I really would sleep better.

  • @ OP
I can tell you its a path bike/ winter trainer, and that it is probably pre 1965, that's all i can do for you, close up of the bb and seat tube lugs please.

  • That saddle position reminds me of a birds beak

  • Cheers Chris Crash for your info... Not sure what grade the tubing is, just that its columbus? I thought maybe the combination of Gipiemme dropouts and BCM BB with THAT paintjob wouldv given it away but I have searched high and low on tinterweb and found nothing but old Gipiemme catalogues and BCM lug pictures!!! I despair....

thats what i was thinking, looks a little like el squire's whip(he's got some photos on his profile page).

  • Looks a lot like my mates 1952 Mercian Vigorelli (They are slightly different to the new ones as they dont havet the wrap around seat stays). What ever it is its got bags of petential...

  • top one looks like a late 50's to 60's english track/path frame. pretty sure it's not a holdsworth (as i've never seen a raised and pointed seat stay), something like a geoff butler, but my guess is a claud butler. they are definitely nervex lugs though.
    have a snoop around here

does it have a grease nipple in headtube or BB?

  • No grease nipples in either b/b or headtube; thanks for the contributions so far.

  • well definitaly late 50's to early 60's

That saddle clamp is on wrong way round, no?

  • Yes;saddle and clamp only put on for photo purposes; it would normally be laid well back!

  • Project that's just a set of wheels....

Got a set of wheel from a friend that I'm intending for a stealthy hybrid/road mtb. Maybe a polo bike. However there is a spoke missing, can anyone identify them so I can get a replacement?

  • Polo bike wheels?!? Really?!? I hope you don't play Rob Zombie anytime soon... He will murderize those spokes... ;]
Looks like the flange has been filed out to take the spokes... I could be wrong, of course... My bladed DTs slotted straight into my Phils without the need for butchery...
