Eyup all.
A mate of mine is looking to get a roadie to commute on, someone's offered him this for offers around £140. Haven't looked at in the metal yet, just wondering if anyone has any ideas as to what the groupset might be?
Cheers

I'll be going to take a look with my mate soon hopefully, so I'll get some better pictures taken when I go. He'll probably buy it anyway if it fits him, too big for me otherwise I'd have it myself!

The mechs and chainset are SHimano 600 (arabesque?).
You can tell by the pixels.

Recently bought this track frame of ebay. The most I know about it is that it is likely of been built in Belgium, from the badge. However know little else. Wondering if anyone else knew anything about the company or frame.
i was watching that - got yourself a bargain there!

Hi,
So I bought this frame a couple of months ago from another forum member and its become my main ride. I've tried finding out more about it but I can't seem to find anything.
All I know about it is that its supposedly Belgian and from the 80's. The BB Shell or dropouts have nothing on them so all I can go after is the signage. I don't even know what tubing it is. The crest on the seat tube reads 'J&E MINJAUW' and the down tube and seat stays read 'MIPA'.
Anyone know anything? Much appreciated.

Been trying to find out more info on this early 80's Raleigh. Checking the serial number against Sheldon Brown's article on early Raleighs says that it was made in the first half of '83 in the Worksop factory which indicates that it's either 531 or 753. Resprayed in the code correct Ferrari red you see before you in the mid nineties, going to try and somehow strip down this layer as carefully as possible at some point in the next couple of days to see if that yields any unusual or distinctive OG paint underneath(I don't think the frame was stripped or blasted before painting). Not expecting anyone to know much about it really unless there's serious classic Raleigh buffs about but thought I'd chance my arm. I didn't know the frame was anything decent before remorselessly lopping off all the brazes so spare me please. Any help appreciated.

Just picked up a crazy huge Saracen frame & fork (and most of the rest). But thats all I know about it.
She is nearly 26" tall and 23" long, takes 700c's and has a '531c' sticker on the seat tube, but then only a 531 sticker on the forks. Weighs about the same as my 21" jackson (with its bb in) so it must be made out of something half decent. oh its got a "B.J. Cycles" sticker on headtube and seat tube.
A little bit of internet trawling did not turn up much on old saracens, only the newer stuff. Also its got a Suntour Cyclone (mk2?) rear mech which is in OK conditon, want to use it on another project but the hanger bolt seems to be seized in there. the bolt will move within the dropout, but the mech will not pivot around the bolt itself, is there a magic way of releasing this type of mech?

Definitely one of the sweetest things to come out of a Saracen factory.

around mid 19-eighties at the youngest I'd say, but it's hard to tell from the pixels you supplied. do you have more pics of the bikes?

Good morning
I hope this is the right forum. I wonder if anyone is able to identify the font used below? I may have to try to make my own decals for a respray. Many thanks.

1970s maybe.
In 1980 nearly all frames had shifter bosses and top tube cable guides already.
At that time, a frame with this kind of stopper plate was already "old fashioned".around mid 19-eighties at the youngest I'd say, but it's hard to tell from the pixels you supplied. do you have more pics of the bikes?

I have a track frame that is currently painted as a swinnerton, however i've got in touch with swinnerton cycles and they have confirmed that it isn't their frame. I thought perhaps it could be a raliegh or carlton frame but the serial number doesn't match the information i've found online.
I really hope someone can help me identify this frame.http://www.flickr.com/photos/5528342...7625968612805/
the serial number is on the bottom bracket it reads 8372 (the 7 could be a 1) with a 5 on the opposite side.

I know of an Erwin Minjauw from Nevele, Belgium as on the sticker.. Bought some rims from him last year.. Nice guy, even sent a christmas e-card.. ;) Maybe you could contact him? I researched on le google that his father was named Jozef, who is from Vinkt, maybe he had a shop there and this was their joint venture frame brand?

Hey, thanks! I just dropped them an email, lets see if the story unravels.
