  • I'm an admin on that list and we really don't want your sort lowering the tone.

    :)

  • oops, sorry man.
    promise i'll be good

  • I'm also a big fat liar who felt like pulling your leg ;)

How about taking it somewhere like Whitcomb for Barry to have a look at if you're London based? God knows that man has been around building frames for long enough to probably have a good idea?

  • gonna be a way for a week, and live out west, so might not be able to get there. but a good idea all the same, you basket :)

  • It looks to me like the head lug had [B_M] in a box, with the middle letter filed off by the maker??

I think there is an 'R' missing between the 'B' and 'M'.

  • hehe, nice try Red :)

  • bugger me!

  • Just bought this and the person does not know what cranks they are, anyone any ideas?

  • miche would be my guess. nice frameset!

  • i agree, but check out the inner part of the crancks on either side, there should be something written there.

  • Thanks, now have to sell loads of other stuff though, so hopefully it will fit.

Miche would be a nice bonus.

    Any advance on Miche?

  • could be dura ace:

but the ones with the bolts instead like my old set.

  • They appear more 'shaped' than Miche. I thought they were Shimano at first.
Check inside for mounting location for another ring. Could be 600 road double.
    Got a closer shot?

  • I've email to ask so I might know tomorrow. Been looking around, looks like it could be a campag (or copy) chainring from the shape of the cutouts. Figures crossed for miche, dura ace or maybe stronglight?

Will probably end up being a converted road crank with a crazy sized ring, but it was a bit of a freebee anyway.

  • yeah I reckon they're dura-ace 7600s, look a lot like mine (which were eyebrows). They're awesome cranks.

  • They have arrived, but still not sure what they are, the only markings on the inside are the length, 165 stamped close to the bb end.

They are 135 BCD defiantly track specific, the chainring bolts screw straight into the spider, outside mount chainring. On a campag bb, square taper. Currently with a 50t Miche chainring, which looks to be 3/32", but I am not sure, I will check later.

I will take some photos when I get home. Would love to know what they are.

  • pista specific is 144 BCD. sound like stronglight to me.

  • miche are 135bcd

  • Yes, they are 135, used to have them on my old bike. It looks like a Miche Primato, which is what I had

  • Nice looking frame btw Guy :-)

  • how much did you pay for the frame and cranks together?

You MUST put a nitto noodle on that ;)

  • Thanks, It says 'crispy' on the top tube in really small gold lettering too. I will enjoy having a bike called 'crispy noodle', might even be worth a change of screen name.

Just noticed it has a miche seattube clamp bolt (not that that makes any difference really).
I will go with them being some old miche cranks. Strange that they have no markings at all, does not look as though they have worn off as there is not much wear, just never there.

Does anyone but miche make 135 bcd 1/8th rings, or some place to get them cheap?
