Reclaim the rain.
Shame, I was looking forward to seeing how many people would go. I was even trying to persuade my friend-girl to go so that I would have an excuse to go for a non-training ride.

Yeah, we went, it wasn't too rainy and quite a few people showed up and apart from Fin playing chicken with a lorry on the Bristol road, there were no mishaps. We'll do another one soon; will try and combine our female lunar powers to predict the weather this time. Look out for Igor and Jess' photos on Femme Pedale.

I'm training just to be generally fast-ish, purely for the sake of it.
I spend far too much of my day sat on my arse so I need to do something to keep my leg strenght.
I've got a few sportives planned too, although being carless might make them a bit difficult...

Looks like a better turnout than your average critical mass. You may have started something really good here, I hope the numbers continue to increase. I might not come on the rides but I will help publicise them in any way I can.

Pastry, let me know what sportives you've hooked up with, and if I can sign up in time, I'll drive. I'm keen to get some distance on these here legs. I think I want to start road racing, just to inflict some pain...

Thanks to everyone who turned up/passed this on/gave general messages of support! I'd like to do a longer, faster ride soon...any good route suggestions?

Just a quick plug for my club's (Wolverhampton Wheelers) women's only track session on a Monday evening 7-8pm at Aldersley stadium. Geared/SS only and bring a helmet. Big range of ages and abilites catered for.
Beginners track bike session after that from 8-9pm, with some hire bikes available.

I'd be way into this. Not available every monday though and I ride fixed gear? Could you email me some details at femmepedale@gmail.com please?
I was going on:
"Sorry boys, this ones for the girls!!"
and didn't see the massive u-turn:
"doesn't mean men are not welcome"
Have fun women (and men). I'm off on the 'england-always-win-ride' which involves watching England lose in the pub.
