  • Just buy a new hub, not expensive depending on your budget.

  • id say new hub, miche's are never right after a rebuild, especialy if your not chaning bearings and re-greaseing

And you know this from experiance Hixon? I've done it to mine once before, no problems

Oh and illsey, you can buy hubs over here for £30

  • Cov forum gets a sneak preview on this before I take proper photos tomorrow:

Early 90s Orbit 'America' frame (Orbits were handbuilt in Sheffield, 'America' was the model name). 60x58cm, straight, no dents, lots of chips in paint (around heattube and BB) with surface rust - I have checked over it very thoroughly and it's only surface rust. It comes with a good Stronglight needle-bearing headset and a sealed hollow-spindle bottom bracket which runs smooth. The brazed fork crown is really nice. Short horizontal dropouts so fine for SS/FG but might need a half-link in your chain. Full 531c frame with 531 forks.

Really cool 'square fade' paint job which is hard to photograph - looks really cool in real life. Asking £90 for this - it would be more but for the chips in the paint!

Yeh I've re built about 5 at work.

Im just going by what the customers of the 3 pairs I've rebuilt at work have said

  • Sturmey archer hub set, good condition (rear 3 speed + dyno front hub) £17 the pair ? Pm me for pictures

  • BSA late 1980's 10 speed stealie.
Not a spot of rust on her beautiful frame. Original running gear in great condition. £150. PM me for details.

  • Handbuilt Orbit 531c road frame 54cm (I think), pink, rusty, paint falling off, seatpost stuck, stem stuck, driveside crank stuck and half-hacksawed off. 105 headset and unknown BB. Drop bars and levers included.

I can't be bothered to strip this down and sell it properly as I'm moving house a week - it'd be a great frame with some new paint. Come and make me an offer.

  • Any pictures mate?

  • I'll re-measure it tomorrow, I think it's 54. It looks more like a 56 though.

  • Hi Lea
Have you still got the 531 frame ,if so what were you looking at for it .
    All the very best
    Sean

  • Yeah I've still got it, a tenner will do.

  • Have decided to sell my 'beater' as it's no longer being used.

It's a single speed conversion, but will come with a bag of bits to put it back to it's former geared self; front & rear mechs, shifers etc... Should you so wish.

It had a new stem, handlebars and stem converter, new cables, new pads, a new chain and new bar tape fitted 2 months ago and has been ridden maybe 100 miles since.

It is by no means a looker, and could do with having someone go over it and tighten up the cones etc but is perfectly rideable and got me to and from work when my other bikes were out of action.

I think £50 is fair? Located in central Cov.

    Cheers!

  • Massive clear out!!! - getting rid off stuff for garage space, 1, peugeot racer I bought and got to a more usable condition, only needs a new rear tyre and would make a great work horse - looking about £ 80. Velocity rims (one I got off blake!) Haven't done anything with them at all, a23's come with spokes and nipples £50, ask me for pictures.

    What size is this?

  • No idea off the top of my head but set as it is it fits me well and I'm 5' 8"

  • Selling my "small" Charge Plug freestyler. It's the nicer looking silver style frame. Upgraded with a Surly wheel set (black), and Andel track cranks (fluted silver). Cranks have a few marks from a chain incident but nothing too major.

Frame is in good shape with the usual marks from normal use. No dents or anything nasty like that though. You can get sizing info from Wiggle here: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/charge-plug-freestyler-2010/

Asking £200 but open to reasonable offers!

  • Lets have a look what you've built it up like steve.

  • Saddle will be a charge bucket, might consider swapping the cranks, but here she is:

  • Nice thing that Steve!

  • Help me fund another bike project :) Selling Sid too, and the gt frame I picked up recently...

  • How much for the sid steve? I'll take the straight off you.

  • Oh...What you building then steve?

  • His millionth bike! :)
