The electrification kit that the kinetics sells might be an idea as the kit is german and basically a crank replacement.
The Pendix eDrive kit is an interesting concept. However, it looks like a very large increase in Q-factor as both cranks move outwards to accommodate the motor in the left-hand crank. Also, there is a scathing strip down of the battery unit on YouTube ('Pendix - Overpriced BMZ water bottle mistake?') which questions the complexity of incorporating the control switching in the battery unit.

Ah I didn't know anything about it, just saw that the pendix was the electric kit.

Anyone interested in a cheap Brompton 6 speed rear wheel?
Cons:
It's pretty grubby
It's pretty old - it's the old SRAM/Sachs hub
The Marathon Plus tyre is a bit wornPros:
It was working fine when I took it off the bike
Plenty of life left in the rim
The tyre's not dead yetYours for a forum donation plus shipping costs.

I picked this up a couple of weeks ago. It’s a 6 speed and came with bent M bars and a very chewed saddle. So far I’ve changed to a flat bar with specialised mtb grips and I’ve also put on my spare sequoia denim saddle. It came with massive front bag and one of those clear IKEA bags.I’ve put 50 miles on it so far and all seems well, I think I did ok for £200.

£200? Bargain!

I know! A chap at work said his dad had just got an E-Brompton and did I want the old one he’d given him as he wouldn’t ever use it? He wanted £100 for it, so I gave him £200 because I’m nice like that.

I think I'll be selling my brompton in the near future. My wife loves hers. I just don't like mine very much.
6 spd, low range gears, M bars, Front and rear mudguards, Extended SP, Firm Block. Matchy bag.
£800?

What options are there regarding tyres that make for a comfortable ride?
I do assume that fork / rear triangle only allow for so much, and hat knobblies like in the below image are a custom setup - but what's the most comfortable you can get with a stock (electric) Bromptom?

At a glance I thought that may be a kinetic rear triange and front fork. Which I believe are wider so you can run normal hubs, bigger tyres and disc brakes.

It's an Eerder Xplorer conversion - https://www.eerdermetaal.nl/brompton_winkelcollectie.html

The Ti seatpost has been a noticeable comfort upgrade for me, so springy.

Like the conversions, but not the prices.

Probably the Continental Contact Urban tyres are the most comfortable to fit the standard frame and rims.
With a change of mudguards it is possible to fit Greenspeed Scorcher tyres. The modifications are described in detail, here:

Thank you, I'll check that out!
Are the Contis you use a big difference to the stock Marathon Racers?

Perhaps others can comment on the Continentals -- I'm still waiting to wear out my standard Marathons which I use as a "fit and forget about punctures" commuter tyre.

James Houston is racing the PanCeltic race on a Brompton

ooi, what do you dislike?
£800 is fair, current rrp would be £1275+ post upgrade around 60 plus bag.
Id list it for around £950-1000
Ta!

Yes, the conti are fabulous; if you want the "best" ride, Schwalbe One!
-

This is quite the mods; fork, triangle, 20x2.6" and the headtube gets modded too!
Id change tyres, wider bars, ergo grips, ti post

Note that Brompton discourage use of the Schwalbe One with the Brompton Electric (like @kino is using):
"Suitable for all bikes, except E-bikes. These tyres are NOT compatible or suitable for use on the Electric bikes"

Thanks for chiming in again @Nick_S - I don't own a Brompton electric but am looking into them for an elderly family member.
They did already test-ride a Brompton and like it - but wished it was a little more comfortable.
I guess a better saddle will help and was wondering about what tyre options there are that might further improve the experience (speed is not a priority here : )@user91463 in what way do the contis differ from the stock (Marathon Racers)?
Ti seatpost sunds nice @amey, but not sure they wanna splash out the monies for that 🙂

Simply because they are not e bike test approved; probably due to their lightweight nature.
In the real world, probably no issues, I have not got any ride time with them on an electric though.
