Anything to stop it tapping as you ride.

Do the newer Bromptons have stiff suspension blocks as standard?
My S2L is only 6 months old and the block looks different and much stiffer than the stock one I see elsewhere online
-
• #8654
Yes.
-
• #8655
So firm as standard?
-
• #8656
Yes, it’s not got horizontal lines, nor does it say firm on it
-
• #8657
Little benefit in upgrading then?
-
• #8658
If your over 80kg I see benefit, the stiff rear makes it feel much more planted etc

Evening all, I have some spare main frames I’d like to clear out... kiddo is growing insanely fast and riding her balance bike daily so pedal bike funds are needed.
I have everything from scrapper to brand new...
Swing us a message! - edit; a message on here!

So the stiff blocks by kerouac et al are still better than the new Brompton stock blocks?
-
• #8661
FWIW I'm way north of 80kg and am happy with the standard block; I'm sure a posh block might be marginally better, but am not sure it's worth the £££.

“Better” is personal!
I favour the Kuosac at 95kg, I like my bike to feel like a road bike more than a comfy cruiser..
It’s stiffer, has very little movement but is comfortable.
For £20, I’d ride the standard firm for a while and see how you go

Thank fuck I am not the only one past 80, oh and it is fat and unfitness.
-
• #8664
I should be 90, but let’s face it right now I’m topping 100, and yes, it’s sugar in my tea, biscuits and not enough exercise!

Chocolate biscuits wards off cv-19..that is my theory.
-
• #8666
digestives for me!
-
• #8667
Might need a few more...mine are dark chocolate digestive.
-
• #8668
dark chocolate is "better" for you than milk? better amend that.
-

Raspberry jaffa cakes....

Or Jammy Dodgers.
-
• #8671
Drink more sugar less coffee then...
Meh I could blame lock down and I know that is a big fat lie.
-
• #8672
lock down has been better for us if anything, just me! need to get it sorted really. Building a new brompton... new brompton new me?
-
• #8673
Either fat unfit brompton club or list with votes to discover the favourite biscuit of LFGSS brompton owners.
-
• #8674
More like wrong bike club, it's a suspension frame, it is meant to flex hence the suspension block.
That said I'm still piecing together my Alfine Di2 disc Brompton though... ;)

Do you have any old stems you need rid of? Cheaper the better :)
Anyone tried the Ti coil suspension?
