Looks like the hub on my front is done.
Anyone got a front wheel in good condition for sale? -

Very cool.

How bizarre. I wonder what’s going on.

If only they had it in blue or flame…

Seems that emerald green isn’t among the line up for 2024 e-p-lines. Does that mean they’re new old stock? Electric p-line came out in 2022 so they’d be a couple of years old.
Am I correct that one could swap out the front wheel and leave the battery at home for occasions that don’t require e-assist, and drop about 4kg from the bike?

The only thing that comes to my mind is that the electric rim is a touch wider than the acoustic rim, so you would need to ‘loosen’ the barrel screw of the brake adjuster to compensate.
And get a cover, be it commercial or makeshift, to prevent crud from getting in the plug for the motor.

I'm pretty sure that was a special colour so yeah they're prob old stock. You can do as you say to reduce weight but bare in mind that the carrier block is different on the electric so you couldn't use standard bags. You could swap that out too for a standard block obv but that would mean removing the wiring for the lights too as they're hard wired into the block.

The front pocket of the battery bag isn't big enough for you eh?

• #16266
Great prices. I just can't get over how messy electric Bromptons look.
-
• #16267
Isn't it? Sorely tempted.

If you know anyone currently at University they can buy it from House of Fraser rather than Evans with the year round student discount to get another 10% off taking it to £1750 ish.
Or use top cashback and settle for the extra 5% off.

I can’t remember what they’re like in person. Where is the plug? On the fork? We have a 3d printer precisely for this purpose so I could readily make a bespoke solution.

What's the anticipated lifespan of a chain on a brompton? I've just had mine serviced and chain replaced but I think it's only had 1,000km for some reason I'd expect more considering it's a hub gear so not being stretched like a "normal" deraileur would. I'm not good at cleaning the chain though and indulge in the occasional bit of gravel on it

Can't give approximates, but in my experience, around half of that of other bikes I do way more mileage on. The drivetrain being so close to the ground seems to attract the worst of muck and grime. That and the fact that it's a commuter, so more rain etc.

Probably a silly question but my Brompton has become slightly redundant since moving to Devon. Its my second Brompton brought after regretting selling first. I am trying to fund a MTB. If I did sell any idea on a fair price? It's 6 speed c line 2022, had fork, rear triangle and stem Lacquered

that makes sense, i wonder if waxing the chain will get a bit more life out of it. the cost is trivial but it seems a waste of material to get through a chain a year
Most decent clearance items are excluded from that EXTRA20 deal sadly so pretty sure it wouldn't have been in there, much like the SL7s they're clearing out.
