  • oh those mks double sided pedals so highly sough after here... mine have lost the bolt to hold the spring in place for the clip side... I've only clipped in for one ride on the damn things

    Suggestions?

  • @Dom - what are those bars? Do you have the 'S' forks or the 'M' ones?

  • Fasih, we've had this conversation… ;)

They are the MK2 Comfort Handlebar by Thorn / SJS Cycles on M-type stem. Brings the height to that of the S-type Brompton.

  • Doh, I remember now. I just ordered some!

  • The M shape is definitely the best looking Brompton.

    You can't beat the classic.

    Amen!

  • Have been to East St cycles, and Edscoble has processed the order for my birthday Brompton.

I will soon be a member of the tribe of people who don't own a bike, but have a "Brommp-ton" with the emphasis on the extended first syllable.

  • The manager's face as priceless when he saw the super light option have been ticked.

  • Annie noticed his reaction.

  • this was cheap

    badly described

  • Jealous of the titanium, James. Which bag option have you settled for?

In other news, I am finally happy with my brompton. Put SPDs back on it which has made my stack height perfect - though I still might buy the Thorn bars, as seen on Dom's Brom. I'm putting too much weight on my saddle and always have done...

  • A good idea, Brompton are for the upright amongst us, it's horribly high.

  • Am still trying to decided between a carradice, ortlieb or brompton own bag.

If I can get a brompton attachment for a carradice i may go for that.

  • If you can fit the T bag with lower bars, as Dom demonstrates, I'd thoroughly recommend it. You can fit so much stuff in it. So versatile.

  • I got new bars, grips and brake levers!

  • I still have a T bag knocking about. At the moment I am using it to keep jackets in, was meant to stick it on eBay.

Slowly working out that Carradice I have is really too small for a lot of things. But then again, those things I always just take a Timbuk2 folded up in the Carradice.... Not a big deal.

If I can get the T-Bag to work nicely with my S-Type I may consider keeping it, but it fowls the cable routing, especially the angle I have my brakes at. I don't wanna stick risers on it cus it means buying risers :)

  • I might be able to take the T-Bag off your hands...

  • don't think it's the kind of teabag you're after tommmmmmm. try chariots.

  • If anyone here is interested, I have a Brand New Schmidt/Brompton Dynamo 16x 1 3/8" Front Wheel, as new, but the guy I ordered it for has done a runner. Awesome.

Available from SJS here for £276; http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/16-(349)-...son-prod22349/

I have mislaid the skewer; however I imagine they aren't too expensive.

£150 posted if delivered personally down south.

  • All set for the Urban Challenge tomorrow. Bike is clean, new setup is working fine.

  • I've pumped my tyres up, thats the best its going to get I think, my rear brake could do with a tighten but its going to have to do. Fasih - I'll see you at the Brompton Junction tomorrow morning - come find me, will have forum cap on. I'm expecting the jetlag to kick in tomorrow morning so it should be a fun day!

  • I'll see you there!

I'm on Rod Munch's orange Brompton (I am a tall white male with dark hair) with my GF on her black 6 speed (tallish white female with blonde hair).

I might wear some jazzy jersey to stand out but nothing's thin enough so I'll probably just be in t-shirt and shorts.

  • Finished the Brompton Urban Challenge London earlier in the evening. What an awesome and well organised event!

    Here are my photos!

@dopplekorn - We totally missed you in the crowd, which team were you in and how was your day?

    #BUCLDN

  • Ha we were team 25.

We got back about 3:15, did that little obstacle course then buggered off, assuming we'd not won anything.

    Did we?

We got paired up with two nice American blokes, Ken and Tristan. I'll see if I can get some photos up...

  • Our "uniformed official" one was use rising behind a couple of police horses

  • I did see you two before setting off this morning, I noticed the London Classic t-shirt, just didn't know that was you!
