  • I’ve got a clickey creak from vicinity of my seat post when peddling . Just had the sleeve changed. Quick release is properly set - Any ideas what’s going on or how to fix ? @sbbohr ?

  • Yes definitely

  • Could be a few things! Most common is pedals, standard grease the threads obviously but also on the folding one, remove the reflectors and check the bolt underneath, check all fitting on the right hand.

  • Thanks I’ll check them - could it also be the rear hinge ?

  • It’s possible, less common though.

  • @sbbohr is there a ‘stock’ singlespeed ratio?

And/or a max cog size to work with the singlespeed/3speed tensioner?

I’m running 48:12 and I think it’d run smoother if I used a larger rear cog but not sure what fit in there.

  • I think stock is 54/12 which is a bit insane. Mines on 54/14 which is working pretty well for me.

  • Yes 54-12 would be stock, 17t rear is safe.

    I favour a 2 speed 60t 13/14 rear

  • Got a load of spares to move, brand new brake calipers, used older model brake calipers, forks, triangles, old style pumps, 2 speed derailleur / anchorages, shifter pods etc

  • Afternoon Sbbohr, do you have any black calipers?

  • On the subject of brakes and I'm sure this has been asked and tried before, but has anyone used standard road bike callipers on their Brompton? I know they're top and not bottom cable entry like the Brompton calipers but it was something I always wanted to change (I've got the older style callipers).

  • I have the 2018 gloss black and the brand new Matt black with Allen key cable clamp bolt ready to ship!

  • Been done, faff really and little benefit. Can sell you a set of calipers for not that much..

  • Are the Ridgeback Brompton copies any good

  • I’m after a Brompton or other folding bike, let me know know if you’ve got one for sale

    Thanks,
    Phil

  • 54:12 seems pretty high.

    I have a 57 and a 14 that I’ll try.

  • Just had mine stolen after the Via Criterium yesterday from outside Beer and Burger. Would appreciate if any KX locals can keep an eye out. Coral, low bar, Marathon tyres, mudguards and SPD M530 pedals.

Managed to pull out the mechanism for the hub gear by accident a couple of hours earlier, so whoever stole it was stuck at 81 gear inches minimum. Silver linings and all...

  • Passed on to cov g Brompton junction employee, u met them yesterday at the crit I think

  • Sorry the hear that happened, how was it taken?

  • Code Brompton20 for 20% off Carradice Brompton bags and carrier frames, valid until the 1st August.

  • Thanks for passing it on, I've heard they often get moved to Oxfordshire / Cambridgeshire for sale there.

@coventry_eagle Had two cafe locks on it as we had both bikes in the pic against the same rack. We were 15m away but didn't have direct sight, some guy just cut the locks when nobody was looking and chose mine as the better option.

  • Got some spares, will make good deals for good peeps
