  • Probably, unless they’re old, damaged, 1sp, outside of London, or all of the above.

  • Cane Creek EE. thank you!

  • Got a pair of black pedals I took from a P-Line.
They've never been used by me but they're a little scuffed from storage.
Posting them is a significant effort at the moment so I'd rather avoid it if possible.
Free to collect from Catford or Dulwich.

    pics to follow.

  • Can I dibs the pedals, have DM'd you.

  • Second dibs. Can collect this week if helps.

  • Have arranged collection of Friday with dibber number one.
    I'll update if they flake.

  • So I've just got my brand new A Line, and and the rear stays look fucky. I guess the design is asymmetrical seeing the dimple for the tyre, but is it normal to have such minimal clearance on the drive side chainstay? Can anyone confirm it should look like this?

I've got to say I'm not all that impressed with the overall build/assembly quality. Front wheel was sitting waaay skewed in the dropouts (and the front fork's O.L.D. is at least a cm wider than the hubs), rear brake cable housing is at least 2 cm too short, and both brakes had about 0 lever throw. These are all fixed bar the housing.

  • Also super unlikely dibs if possible!

  • Just had a look at my Brompton Electric and it's similar; never noticed before.
Also, the bit in front of the tyre joining the tyre two chain stays had a massive dent in it on one of my other Bromptons!

  • Thanks for checking! I've also looked around some forums and apparently it's normal, also the middle of the tyre lines up with the brake hole so I'm relieved.

Front wheel still sits quite skewed, I'm starting to think the cutouts of the dropouts aren't equally deep, might need some filing but gonna ask customer support first what to do.

  • Woot, I’m in the gang. Having bugged a friend for years (decades?) to buy the Brompton I knew he had gathering dust, he finally capitulated.
Not sure what I’ve bought but as he’s an obsessive neat freak I knew it would be in mint condition. He even had it serviced by the local Brompton shop before I collected and when he went to pick it up they had put it on display in the window!

  • Can't be that near if he's missing most of the front muddguard? Shop should also have mentioned this durings service, maybe they did and he didn't care.

    Crankset has been replaced too.

  • I was referring to the condition being mint, didn’t say stock. There are loads of little mods, titanium bolts/clamps etc. Front mudguard was a deliberate chop.

  • Have you tried loosening both nuts completely, and seeing how it sits in the dropouts then?

  • Tidy looking S3L in raw lacquer.

Currently my Brompton is by far the most used of all 7 of my bikes

  • Cheers, I remember him buying it when we lived together in 2010 and I can’t find a scratch. I knocked it over as soon as I got home.

  • Same.
I joined this group for the sweet, sweet fixies. I don't know where I've gone wrong.

  • I think the mudguard may be a modification.

  • I went for a ride around my new city today and the Brompton was great. Discovered that just pulling the saddle all the way up gave the perfect height which was very pleasing.

  • Ideal! A budget hack if not is to wrap electrical tape around the bottom of the seat tube at the correct height, so every time it comes up it’s right

  • good tip

  • Yep! Thankfully I've found the solution, the issue was the dishing after all... I've trued the wheel properly now it looks way better.

In the meantime I've put two washers onto the hub axle, OLD of the fork was about 74mm while the hub is only 70mm, so now the fork doesn't need to be squished together. 4mm is probably negligible but with such a narrow hub it looked way off. Meh, I'm just nitpicking. The bike looks great, rides great, folds great. Will deffo upgrade the pedals and I've already ordered some bootleg Litepro eazy wheels off AliExpress.

  • Possibly given the cable protector disc is there.

Is that still considered a mudguard functionally? Disc brake caliper guard? Goatee guard? Charlie Chaplin tash guard?

  • Not meant to be functional; more aesthetic I think.
