Sjs only did well on Bromptons because we had 120 in stock prior; Brompton have completely fucked shops and customers by selling direct, factory build is poor, shops loose out, people buying the wrong bike because lack of test ride etc.
We went months with no bikes in stock at all.

Somehow I guess we are an exception to this as we've constantly got stock of them coming in and and selling.
Also accepting cycleschemes and it not making us lose money.
Have seen some questionable bikes come in from Brompton - currently sitting on a P Line with a bent triangle and gonna have to wait months for it to be sorted, also had to redo quite a few seat sleeves on new bikes.
Also get a fair few people bringing their bikes to us after getting then straight from Brompton to have safety checks done.
Standards at the factory seem to be all over the shop. -

Nowadays I think sjs have good stock ( I left in March)
Factory built bikes are never done, which is fine providing they get sold to shops not users!

Here’s mine …
Now show us your Brompton!
I had to pull up on the rack and make sure the stays were properly seated and tightened everything. Which eased the pressure off the mudguard.

interesting okay! I will take pics tomorrow.
I had to pull up on the rack
so does that bend the tab at the brake caliper then?

Make sure the mudguard Mount is on the right side of the bridge; squeeze all three stays together to pull it off the tyre

hard to describe but i basically found that at the stays, if it was sitting too low then it put pressure on the guard.
I didn't have to do bending at the brake caliper tab, there was a point where I thought it wasn't sitting flush, but re-seating the rack stays helped it sit better ... I added washers to make it all sit nicely (but didn't have to add that many).

Does the son one interfere with the brake block?

I am using a Brompton T line which has been great but I have had a few punctures. I am currently on the (patched) turbolito tubes and the tyres it came with. I Am willing to carry a bit more weight to get more robust tubes and tyres. What are the forum recommended tubes and tyres for a Brompton?

cool, are you going to have mudguards at any point? otherwise will just order now ...
I wasn't aware that shops paid a commission just to use the scheme, might just wait for something to come up second hand instead.
