Any recommendations for an aftermarket seatpost please? Needs to be a bit longer than the standard Brompton one
Looking on Aliexpress at the moment - am I right to be nervous about a carbon seatpost?

You are right to be nervous looking on aliexpress, carbon is okay if you care for it, clean it and the sleeve / replace the sleeve when worn.
Ti is an easy option

Assume you mean the GE1?
The GA2 is straight rubber grip and found on the original CHPT3 V1.
The GE1 is an updated interpretation of the GA2 with a slightly softer rubber I feel. There is a small thumb rest/wing moulded into the grip and the inner plastic barrel has a cut out under the palm rest offering some air cushioning. This was fitted to the most recent CHPT3 V3. -

Just received a 'brompton rear bush removal kit'.
Its a low quality drill bit to basically mawl the old bush to death, then a replacement bush and axle. Pretty crap for £25! Was expecting an actual tool lol. In the mean time had already removed a few brompton's worth with a normal blind bearing puller, for some reason I thought brompton made some kind of special tool. Nope just a basic drill bit. FML

bin the drill bit, its trash. which kit is this? they dont sell a "removal" kit, they sell a tap and reamer to dealers, or the parts and drill bit to customers

Have we had this - Brompton planning a move to Ashford?
-
• #10915
wow that guy literally has delusions of apple/steve jobs
-
• #10916
Could be a great move... A site mich bigger than Greenford with fewer constraints, easier access to Europe etc.
Also, just nicer than Greenford

Ashford is an artless shitehole.
i can say this as i spent a large part of my youth there, my heart still sinks every time i pass through it.
The locals will hate it ‘cos its cyclists innit’ they haven’t been happy since the ring road was partly pedestrianised which interrupts their eescort/sierra/saxo race track heroics. -

First Makenade, now Brompton it's on the up.

This, FML.
Only ever once worked in a shop that had brompton dealer status (was quite a large independent that prob sold about 5 a week) and even getting parts then was like having to use smoke signals to communicate with them. Now being a smaller shop, getting the 'brompton' parts means using retail outlets, ordering from mates at shops with dealer access doesn't really help).

How long ago was this?

I’ll be interested to see what it’s like. I’m also seeking a new seatpost, partly to shave a few grams, partly because the existing standard one is too short (I’m 6ft 3ins) and partly because I have a spare carbon-railed saddle knocking around that’s not compatible with the existing Brompton Pentaclip. If anyone can recommend the best Aliexpress ti seatpost with integrated seatpost clamp for ti rails, that would be useful!
-
• #10922
Most of the integrated ones are not carbon rail suitable; Ti parts make adapters for the OE pentaclip for carbon rails or the p line Pentaclip is suitable.

Got a brand new fork / stem / triangle set to sell; Ti fork and triangle, all black

Hi,
I've just posted my S3L in Raw Lacquer for sale in classifieds which may be of interest in this forum:https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/373444/#comment16416297
Thanks
Numbers relate to size of ergonomic support, I use a ga3 on my mtb
