Appreciate it!
Will have to finally definitely decide what drive chain each bike needs...
What’s fastest?!
Disc Rohloff or fixed gear?!

Are these the right bars to replace M bars for slightly more sporty set up and easy switch over?
And supplementary question, which grips are most favoured (non-ergo) to go with?
TIA.

I think with those your M will have same stack/bar height as S.
I tried ergo grips but nothing beats ESI.

Pre 17 m or post 17 m?
-
• #10331
Hmmm. Good question. Probably pre I think, but got it around then. Does that make a difference?

Upload photo, the stems are fairly different so need to know what you got really

Ta - will go and check in a sec.

How easy is it to change a 3 speed to a 6 speed? I bought my wife a 6 speed and find it a lot easier on my increasingly arthritic knee - on my old 3 speed I’m nearly always slightly grinding, whereas on the 6 I could always adjust just enough to avoid grinding.

Fairly, I can provide you a full kit of bits you can just bolt on under my instruction?
Send me a photo of said Brompton, we can go from there

God my memory is so bad. Very much pre-2017 as it turns out...2012 in fact!

Excellent!
You can fit a mid rise, but it’s about 70mm ish drop I think, compared to 30mm if you had a post ‘17.
Otherwise, if you don’t need wider, you could fit the new m type bar

I have these on my B75 which is pre 17 stem, would recommend.

Great thanks. Essentially, got the M because it was shared with the missus, but she's off to a gocycle now so I was hoping to get closer to an S position, with minimal outlay and fuss. Sounds like this'll do the trick.
(Pretty sure that new wheels are also not far off being needed but can't really justify that just yet). -

Got this bundle to find a new home for...

What I don't get about the JK handlebars is - I have a 2016 M6L, and when folded the left-hand grip virtually touches the ground... a wider handlebar sounds great, but why doesn't it hit the ground? do you need a rack to lift up the main frame? or is just that the extra sweep is enough to get it out of the way? (it looks like <1cm from the ground rn, and the bar is apparently 7cm / 3.5cm per side wider?)
-
• #10343
The sweep is the same, they are lower rise by 30mm
They do touch the ground unless you trim them slightly or have a rack / larger easy wheels
-
• #10344
Off one yes, I bought it as a frameset but only using the frame

New bars ordered. And then obv had to get replacement easy wheels. Poor neglected brompton on the road to getting a bit more love.
-
• #10347
Yeah I like em! Less sweep too means the bike doesn’t get shorter
-
• #10348
Yeah plus they were $27 so can’t go wrong!

• #10349
And probably one of the lightest options!

Course dependent, if it's pretty flat then a 2 speed modded to 3 is probably the best?
Give me a shout when you're in town, might even have a place for your to bunk in if the room is spare then.
