  • You can buy a clip from spa cycles

EDIT: No longer listed on the website.

  • The best way is p type with a flat bar.

P type is the lowest stem and keeps the longer reach like an s type

  • Sorry, missed this. Was talking about using the later levers with the single pivot brakes.

Cool thanks, I was looking at that earlier thinking the P type had the reach but was a fair whack shorter.

I have a particularly steep descent for 2.5km on my commute and the brompton is rather twitchy once you're descending over 40kmh i find

  • Ah ok.

Well between the all metal bmx lever and some 105 (I think) cartridge style pads the single pivot rear does feel a lot better.

  • How wide your bars? Got a bag on the front?

  • Standard S2L bars and no bar bag.

I have a carrier block but no bag

  • Get some bigger bars on there, 600mm is good, think up to about 650mm on an S type. Then get a bag, and load it up.

    Bike will ride totally different!

  • I’ll look for some bars, are they 25.4mm? Or 22.2?

Can’t really get a bag, not sure how common they are in NZ

  • 25.4mm, aliexpress some litepro ghosts

  • First batch of upgrades done.

I also got a 2017 onwards 2sp thumb shifter that I’m going to convert to but I’m looking at re-designing the internals to try and make it 3sp

  • That's very handsome!

  • A friend is looking at getting a Brompton. M3l from 2008. If he has a more recent bag designed to go with the carrier block will it work. The bike doesn't appear to have the current version of the carrier block on, so can't tell if his current bag will just port straight over if he adds his block to this bike. Can he do that? Or is the 2008 bike incompatible?

  • My’97 has the mount for the carrier block and I’m now running the newest Borough bag on it so I’m sure you’d be absolutely fine on an ‘08 bike.

  • I have to say the slicks have made a huge difference to the stability of the bike on the big descent into work.

I may also drop from 100psi to say 80psi long term

  • Nice!
    What's that under the saddle?

  • It’s a skingrowsback saddlebag with just a tube and Allen keys etc

  • Just finished up

  • This shouldn’t work but it’s done so tastefully! Kudos!

  • I think it’s due to be sold if you fancy it I can pass your details to the owner!

  • Is there much difference between Kojaks and G-Ones?

  • Kojaks are 32mm, Ones are 35mm, Ones about 25 grams lighter. I think it is quite noticeable

  • I'm really liking my G-ones so far, i think the main benefits for me are they are much faster rolling than the brompton own brand tyres i had before and the casing is much more supple which is really helping with stability on the 2.5km of quite steep descent on my commute.

  • Not had a brompton for a while but return to work at office means i was on the fence about getting one again.

Seeing G Ones are available has pushed me in the correct direction...

Kojaks have always been a puncture nightmare for me...

  • Ones, not g ones

    look at Continental Contact Urban
