^ Good tip.
You could also let all the air out of your tyres.

Tighten your brake up so it drags. That'd do it

Change the route frequently, so it's not a boring chore.

Cheers, some good suggestions, just worried a couple will actually make it harder work to get home but would def make me go slower ;)

I also have a bit of an inability to pedal slowly. Not saying I'm fast, just that I pedal at an exertion level probably beyond what I need to for most rides. I do this when walking as well. It's a sickness.

I just grabbed the cruiser bike with a freewheel, flat pedals and really spintastic gearing this morning. Slowed me down plenty. Was a ball though

Rise your stem a bit, stop at every red light, and constantly look around, you'll notice London a lots more if you take it easy.

lower the gearing
you'll pedal just as fast but go nowhere twice as quickly -
• #19
A nice low gearing will help with that. I suffer from the same problem but trying to hit 30mph on 60GI soon gets tiresome and you eventually succumb to the slowness

I can't walk up stairs, I always run, sometimes 2 or 3 steps at a time.

Keep your mouth shut and only breath through your nose.
I'm feeling pretty knackered today and have my 13 mile commute home to do. Really I want to take this nice and steady, even slow! Now that's where the problem starts, can't seem to do this, know I'll probably start racing home this evening. Anyone have any hints how to keep a slower pace?
