Chicken wire over curtain rail hoops (to keep the pigeons off) then clear plastic sheet until February.

It’s pricey but not much alternative, make sure you buy the thicker stuff as the thin tube bends/ is useless.

Is this the Blue pipe that fits neatly into scaffold Poles?
I think that is standard issue as Water Pipe installed between the 'Mains'
and domestic supplies.
Engage scavenging mode and find where the sub-contractor to your local Water company are currently working and ask for any off-cuts/end or rolls? -

That blue piping is all over the place on my allotment - nobody has bought it - probably 'found' council surplus.

Blue pipe is standard MDPE water pipe, sold in 20mm, 25mm and 32mm as standard size. I would probably go with 25mm for the strength, most builders merchants will be cheaper than B&Q etc. or if not its not too expensive in Screwfix https://www.screwfix.com/p/mdpe-pipe-blue-25mm-x-50m/19606

Rat has vanished. Fox I'm guessing.
I let this weed hang out here in one of the beds. It's about to thank us with some lovely Poppies I think.

I was putting a poly tunnel up this weekend and have seen lots of people using blue piping to brace the curve shape. Where are they getting this from? I've looked online and it seems expensive. Not the kind of money someone would spend on their allotment.
