That's a great haul of spuds! Ditto about the banner. Did you get a total weight?

Now need to think about putting up bunting if the cucumbers make a showing!

Potatoes are serious business :)
I had intended to weigh them as a reference point for future years however was a few sheets to the wind (from a 10l box of ale) and very much forgot to do that. -

If that is blight, it's more likely early blight than late blight. I've got a bit of early blight at the moment, it's not great but not as serious as P. infestans

Squash bed is doing quite well. Another advert for the no-dig method. The uchiki kuri (far corner) seem really good at climbing. May try them again next year.

Went down to do some illegal watering just now. Checked my hot composter. Still pretty warm. But look at these strange fungi

Had some of them in my compost before. I'm pretty sure they're a good thing.

Picked up a couple of Bokashi bins off a local freecycler. Anyone got any tips? I know the rough method.

Don't forget about it. Someone forgot about the one they had on the go at Walworth Garden. We opened it and it was one of the worse things I smelt or seen.

I have a load of 10-20mm gravel I need to get rid of from my house, am I going to regret putting on my paths? I also can get access to a massive amount of woodchip if I can only get to my allotment on the weekend.

Just Chuck it in the beds. It will be good for drainage

I think they're a bit large for that, more like 20-50mm on second glance.

An inspection I didn’t know was happening has found my plot wanting. Now have to sort it out for an inspection I do know is happening. I called the bloke up straight away to protest as it’s at least 3/4 cultivated. Anyway, the bits that aren’t cultivated are a bit of a jungle so going to have to do something to sort them out. Away for two of the next 3 weeks, though ðŸ˜ðŸ˜

Strimmer ftw

Seems excessive. Some of the plots on our site are 100% weeds

Might start a bit of my no-dig plan next week. I have a battery strimmer which is, quite frankly, pony. But it’ll have to do. In fairness someone getting kicked off their plot was how I ended up getting mine, and it is quite messy but still, I’m up there 2-3 times a week, there’s 6 rows of spuds, numerous pots, 8 squash plants, 48 sweetcorn plants, an apple tree, garlic, onions. I dug a bastard big elder stump out of it with a mattock.
Looking in other plots it's all over the site, I noticed one particular bad plot last week.
Insanely we're not permitted to burn until 1st Oct now, they'll sit in the burner until then.
