I made some cider using one of those Wilkinson’s kits and tried some this weekend. Not bad at all. Just need to drink the other 24 litres and I’ll do another but fruit in it

Link to the kit? Have a huge apple tree on one of our plots. Hic

I thought about this, but we are three mikes from sheppys, and they have animals for kiddo to look at!

A new car seems excessive
Maybe start with a new bike & bike trailer?

ooh - that's a short trip up the a38 to look forward to when we can.
I have regular and detailed daydreams of taking on an orchard.

Where are you based?
Sheppys are open now, you can walk the orchards, say hi to the horse, donkeys, cows etc
Our mini orchard now has;
2 plum
1 Apple
1 cherrya fig at home we may move
Many raspberries
Many red currants -

Great, thanks. John Lewis have a decent looking one for ~£200 so that could be worth considering.

May have to join the rhubarb gin club in the next few weeks. Anyone got a good recipe/method? I appreciate it's rhubarb, gin and sugar, but if there are any other pointers that would be great.
-
• #1039
I use the rhubarb:sugar:gin ratio in this recipe

Almost entirely cleared the front plot now, the two compost bins both had massive ants nests in them which was fun, but were in impractical places so had to be moved.
Just the small patch on the left to dig over now, hoping to get that done this evening. I'm going to split it into four sections with paths running through the centre.

Not my allotment, but I'm rather proud of this planter I built with integrated trellis, ready for the tomato seedlings imminently.

Those mountfield mowers at screwfix do the job nicely - lot lighter than old ebay qualcasts etc

Apparently we're in for an 18 degree drop in the next 48hrs, should I be worried? We have quite a few young plants.
Speaking of rhubarb
