  • They were v tasty as well - justified by Garmin telling me I'd burnt off 2410 calories!

  • Lovely! Were the pheasant(s) anywhere near Knockholt by any chance? The only times I can recall seeing any around there it's always been at the top of Sundridge Hill, just before you get on to Knockholt Road.

  • Loads of pheasants on Beech Farm Road this morning, just before the B269. Loads on Thursday along Beddlestead, together with an inquisitive stoat (bit not riding on the back of a green woodpecker).

  • Lovely time of the year to be out riding, did London to Brighton on the usual route west of the M23, not many riders, and overall quiet traffic as well despite the late hour I set off. Two months without proper rides were considerably felt on the legs by the end of it. Load of pheasants..

  • I've been getting over a heavy cold/New-Job-Fever for the last couple of weeks but this weekend I made the most of the lovely weather yesterday, I did a big 'un on the single speeder. It was ace, London was surprisingly quite and there was no breeze too, perfik conditions.

57 miles on the SS'er. Totally enjoyed it.

  • This weekend was just an unusually hilly club run (for York), but last Friday I got out to do this:

    https://www.strava.com/activities/751593445

Speed was due to a few miles of off road tracks that required walking, and a lot of towing my mate on the flat bits.

The weather was perfect, we even got a bit of a tailwind up Holme Moss, and it was some of the most beautiful and absurdly difficult (Shibden Wall - 25% and cobbled) riding I've done this year.

  • Rode to Brighton off road thru the night.

    It was fun

  • Rode up a hill faster than some people but slower than some other people. Pulled some funny faces and had a bit of a lie down afterwards.

  • Liking the smiley face on the BB area there

  • @umop3pisdn brutal pain face

    @7Üp bloody scary outfit

  • I hope you didn't see anyone (for their sake).

  • Charlie are everywhere!

But seriously, @7Üp where did you fit the rifle on the bike?

  • All about the GTA views..

  • Neeeed to get out of London!! those 🍁🍁🍁🍂🍂 !!!

  • A very chilly 42.5 mile loop over SE London today, 'nippy-around-the'nads' I'd describe it as. I wanted to investigate the Waterlink Way route that goes from the Cutty Sark down through Catford to Elmers End and beyond, managed to go way past desired stopping point and had to rely on the Garmin to get be back home as I didn't know where I was, ooops!

  • Quick 30mile out to redhill back via sherperds hill and caterham. Good legs. Slow mate got cold and few specks off rain as i tried to ride fast and hard off to get warmth in me

  • Did my first ever 200km today - nice to tick that box. Headed up towards the Chilterns and Windsor to ride lots of roads I haven't been on for a while. Weather was perfect, not to warm not too cold. I'd forgotten how beautiful the Chilterns are, and how few cars are out compared to riding around Surrey.

I'd also forgotten about Chilterns flint - two punctures today is more than I've had in months. The rain yesterday must have washed loads onto the roads.

  • Spontaneous wales trip last night.

Arrived around 2 AM in Aberystwyth, rode some road and XC trails to a Bothy where we slept, then rode back in the morning and hit up a local free ride spot.

Forgot how good this bike rode, I did however very quickly run out of skill, suspension travel and grip all at the same time and managed to eat shit pretty hard. Bruised my chest and totalled my helmet. Still rather dazed.
