Fullgas on the flats, and then plodding up the climbs? Sounds perfect, I'll fit right in...

Well done! Love the idea of a quick track stand at the top of Hardknott, it was all I could do to stand at all by that time. It was the first time I'd done any sportive or race, so I think I jumped in the deep end a bit, but no dramas. I did see a rider down looking very worse for wear on the descent from Honnister, and the ensuing ambulance coming up to get him at the feed station. Good luck at Bergamo this weekend!

Your fixie skidder ex-courier host on the second night was formerly of this parish. Did you know that?
Amazing looking trip btw.

I raced my partner from home in Dartford to the V+A Museum today. She went by bus and train, I went by Dawes Fixie conversion.
Less than 20 seconds in it to the entrance steps between us, she confessed she had to 'leg it' up the steps to beat me, hahahahaha, she's a 55 y/o arthritic Mum of 2 n'all, respek dearest! :)

Did a long ride with friends to and through the German Eifel hills area, with a particularly nasty climb on the grounds of this eerie place overlooking a reservoir lake.
We started out near the 3 borders point on the Vaalserberg in the south of Amstel Gold land. I lost my right pedal about 10kms into the ride, but fortunately found a nice elderly bike mechanic in a bike shop a couple of hundred yards back, who provided a little screw to hold the pedal back on. It did however come back off with 15kms to go, forcing me into a rather awkward pedal stroke and the periodic use of strong language, but thanks to a push uphill now and then from my fellow riders while I was struggling to slide the pedal that was stuck in my cleat back onto the axle, I made it.
all in all, great ride even with the chilly weather, quite a change to sub 10 celsius gear after over a week of sweaty rides in shorts & jersey

Glorious weather for the Nove Colli today.
Official time (including stops) was 8h28m, which is about 25 minutes faster than I've done it before.

Nothing special, but managed to sneak out for just over an hour for the first time since my son was born in April. Thankfully his grandparents live in Rutland, which is a beautiful place to ride on a day like today. #selfies4dimi3

Most fun race/sportive I've had in ages. Chasing Down the main Group in a bunch of 6. All as fecking stupid as myself, was awesome. Everyone swearing encouragment at each other. Everyone in serious danger of cracking at any minute. Me forgeting my Norwegian and just screaming 'fooooking puuush!' at everyone.
Popped 30m from the finish line on a 20% ramp. Which was Nice.

Enjoy it then, Bergamo is a stunningly beautiful town, especially the Citta Alta.
It's your typical Italian event, every goes off like the clappers, then slow to walking pace when they hit a climb. The scenery is amazing, but some of the descents are a bit sketchy on narrow roads that are open to traffic.
