Thank You, so did I.
If the weather's good I think I'll go for a cruise around London's Famous London town centre this weekend. Had enough of Hills and Countryside for a bit.

No I didn't acheleee but it looks fun, a 'travelator', like the sound o' that! If I stick with my usual "Lundun Loop" I manage to do a bit of alt-riding, part of my route features riding into a lift/exiting across a bridge of a railway line/riding into another lift and descending back to road level, all without getting out the saddle, "wwwwrrrrraaaaaadikal"!
EDIT. This...

I live near 7 mile lane and would never ever ride it through choice. There are so many nicer ways to get to Teapot Island from the top of 7ML. It's the hidden dips that are the most dangerous. Best avoided.

Yeah, I don't think I'll be be doing 7ML again too soon either. Liked the Teapot venue though, nice to have a nosh stop to head for I've realised. Got any route/lane recommendations for avoiding 7ML? I don't know that area very well.

Yeah loads of good options. PM me and I'll plot you a route.

My usual training ride passes through tea pot.
Here's the route I take that may offer some options.

Enough of this Super brilliyant Euro globe trotting stuff!!! Lets voyage closer to home, lets do a GReat ride. Hey.... lets go GRavesend to GReenwich. See what I did there?
Right, boring bit from Dirtfud to Gravesend, but then lets set sail across the mighty 'Lundun Ribber' aka The Thames by the Gravesend to Tilbury fairy...
...to forrin lands...where the Ethessex people live...
Then we crack on through Grays, Furrock then head past Purfleet Docks to the nice RSPB Cafe for nom noms at Rainham, great view of Dirtfud Bridge and the Thames from here...
...then we shuffle along the path up to Londons Famous London next to the Thames and start to see the pointy skyline of Londons Famous London skyline coming into view over the old concrete barges rammed into the shore at Rainham.
Then the path swerves off up through the marshes and up n over HS1 and out onto Rainham 'Village' (bwahahahaha) and then onwards to Dagenham. At Daggers Dock we go 'Lift-riding'...
...and then across the same HS1 rail track to get us back down to ground level...
...push button, lift cometh...
..and then freedom. We then cruise up through Dagger's Thamesview (bwahahahahahaha) estate and pick up the arse-end of CS3 and cruise up and through Becton then dive down to the Royal Docks, then out the other end onto the Isle O' Dogs (not actually made from real dogs) and again witness Londons Famous Pointy buildings but closer up...
Interestingly the view 180 degrees in the opposite direction shows Londons Famous London's famouser 'not pointy buildings'....
Crack on down through the Isle O' Dogs and enter the Greenwich foot tunnel and at the other end you pop out right in front of Londons Famous Londons Ye Olde Worlde HoverBoat (I think...)...
Geddaoutta there quick, s'full o tourists! Lets ride down the Thames Path south side taking in a fine view of Londons Famous Blunt building...
From there we whiz along the Thames path again until we're fortunate enough to see Londons Famous shiny racing beach huts under starters orders before they race off up the Thames for no reason whatsoever...
Another zoom along the Thames Path leads us to Londons famous Woolwich Fairy (not actually made from Fairies), ain't it bewtifull?
Still further along the the heavily congested cycle path...
...we come to the most ugly observation platform known to mankind on the outskirts of Thamesmead, Brutalist-I-Oop!
...which offers stunning views of.... a waste tip on the other side of the Thames. Nice!Gadzooks....Worried you're entering Thamesmead and you're not 'tooled-up'? Fear not, help yourself to one of our handy jousting poles...
Further down the path we find a Victorian 'Pumping' Station...
I think this is where Victorian Dance music was made by hand by local craftsmen but sadly no matter how hard I strained my hearing I couldn't hear any Banging House Toonz from a bygone era.
Further down the path we find a stupidly steep bike path that just goes over a massive pipe.
But it does lead us into yummy picturesque Eariffffff...
Ain't she a looker. As quickly as possible we cycle through Erith and Slade Green, with its verdant rolling grasslands...
...until we reach Dirtfud which for some reason thinks footpaths are bike paths too...
and so we come back to the Mmmmmmmmm25 which isn't yummy at all...
Bit crap really but easy peasy.
The end.

I decided that today I'd try and do some Everesting on the climb up to @Cycliste's local ski station. The plan was to start riding at 6am. My flight on Friday was delayed by an hour and a half, so I didn't get to @Cycliste's flat until midnight. Then I overslept. So I didn't set off until 9am. I soon worked out that I needed to do 15 ups and downs, and that they were taking me about an hour each. Which would mean I'd still be riding now, and would finish some time between midnight and 1am. Decided that this was a silly game, so had a nice lunch, stopped after 9 ups and downs, and then went for dinner.
Still did an imperial century and over 5km of climbing, so not a bad day's riding. Here's the stats:

Was supposed to be doing the Torchbearer 12hr race at Bontrager 24:12. Decided 500miles of diesel wasn't worth the forecast mudfest so decided to save some cash and try the Ridgeway Double ITT instead. The route was designed by a local rider, Mark Goldie, who is seriously quick.
I started at 3.30 in the dark. It became apparent that my legs had not recovered from the last training block with most climbing having to be done out the saddle right from the off - a slight issue
I spent a lot of time controlling my mind's desire to stop. Mental math on average speeds, holding out for treats and looking at where my Help for Heroes band should have been (I forgot to replace it after putting my armwarmers on).
It took just over 1ohours to get to Overton, at that point my mind perked up and could use my legs better. I was on the home straight with only 53miles to go. An hour into that and I realised sub 15hrs was on the cards. After that everthing just sort of felt right.
Depression to euphoria, never want to ride a bike again to working out how to get sub 14. Bieks and minds.....
