I got a tan today on my legs, or at least I now have noticeably whiter feet. Combined with black toenails, this is a look that made a man at the train station shudder.

Out early today - just bibshorts, a short sleeve base layer and a wooly hat, but even my knees felt warm in the sunshine. I was kicking myself for chickening out of The Dean but it was such a perfect spring morning that even a few loops of various South London hills cheered me up.

Great ride today, the first one of the year when i havent felt like i had winter legs. 45 miles of sunny suffolk lanes cut through my hangover well

I know I'm a bit more eager than most to get some flesh out, but what was with everybody in long-sleever jerseys and full-leg tights today? I was summer socks, bare arms and legs and loving it.
Dunno what you're talking about - it was bare arms and legs over here. I even ditched my gloves to try and even out my mitt-induced permatan.

Except 1 triathlete looking one, who loved the bike.
Happy they hadn't fallen off yet?

what a lovely day for a ride!
This.
Considering the focus I put on on-bike fueling though today was a bit of a fail.

cycled to the dartford crossing and back sticking to the thames as much as possible today, knackered now
down to the crossing on the north side, it does get a bit industrial and grotty near dagenham and the ford plant, and due to their use of the thames to exports cars there is a fair chunk where you can't even see the thames but on the whole pretty peaceful and quiet cycling
coming back on the south side there is a 5 miles or so section of road and a 3 mile or so section of unmade path but then after that you are golden
nice smooth paths all the way to woolwich where is re crossed
the taxi service across the bridge is pretty efficient.thinking about a bridge ( singular ) ride in the summer just cruising down then up the thames

Dragged the downhilly bike out for a lap or two of the local XC trails and a wonderful time was had.
First ride on it since Alps last summer, oops.

Have notched up just over 27 miles this weekend. Not much to others but an absolutely HUGE achievement for me.
Saturday was a cycle to and from football at Dagenham & Redbridge around 12.9 miles. They have some great bicycle parking now (covered by 24 hr CCTV) installed at my suggestion. (Pic below)
Then off to High Beech today. This was tough because I don't think I've gone out on two consecutive days like this. Strava says 15.5 miles but I'm only really claiming 15 because once you turn off the A104 I struggle and walk most of the way to the tea hut! I really tried to cycle that bit today but I honestly had nothing left to give. Thankfully tea and cake restored me enough to cycle home.
Am so chuffed with myself overall. To be this fit by the end of March is a bleeding miracle. My aim is 2-3 rides a week of a similar sort of length before trying something longer by the end of April. This will be a real test because I suspect my painkilling medication is wearing off and I don't get topped up until June.
PS this was all done fixed. Still haven't gone clipless though.

Rode from Oxford over the Severn Bridge and back yesterday. Legwarmers and longsleeve jersey due to the early start. Could have gone with shortsleeve and armwarmers. Food was three apple strudel in Newent, a ploughman sandwich at the petrol station in Chepstow, a mixed pasta and potato salad and BLT sandwich at a very nice cafe in Malmesbury, a banana and yoghurt raisins at Membury services. Beside from the two apples, clementines, sandwich and muesli bar I had packed. Hackpen hill into a fierce headwind was probably the best.

Sorry to have missed you Ludwig, would have been great to see you again after a year or so 'off grid'. Join the ride to Bath!

Rode to Cambridge with Ms 7VEN who was debuting her new Strada built H+Son SL42's on Hope RS Mono's. So much traffic getting out of London (probably Mother's day related). Leaves starting to grow on the hedgerows and the rapeseed is flowering. Lovely ride. 8/10.

Took a spin round Canary Wharf on saturday to wake up my legs a bit and prep for today's club run. My biggest ride this year has only been about 35 miles so I wanted to ease myself into it and do a shorter run. The chap running the longer run encouraged me to come along and I ended up doing 67 miles overall, which I am pretty chuffed with.

That paints a picture :-)
Rode from Oxford over the Severn Bridge and back yesterday.
That's quite a journey. I went over the bridge today, although my loop was relatively small (145km).

The relatively small Chepstow bridge was lovely as well. Never had been to Wales before.

You missed Leffe on Friday evening.
Took the bike in the car down to Hog Hill, helped out in our club crits and then rode home (my wife drove back).
Don't know why but I felt very heavy-legged despite a cross wind which then turned into a tailwind for the last 8 miles home from Finchingfield. 45ish miles @ just over 15mph. Feel knackered now - very strange.
Anyway our daughter's away for the night so we're off to our favourite Indian Restaurant (Yuva in Debden, near Saffron Walden) - try it sometime if you live this way - excellent food
