  • A very pleasant roll out Kent-way this morning with Benj.
Didn't start too promisingly with my dodgy knee threatening to cut the ride short at any moment and then Benj puncturing 15mins into the ride.. Once we got that sorted and got going properly my knee kept quiet and we were able to enjoy the route, the weather and the company at a steady pace.

Bacon sandwiches were off the menu at Brasted's 96Degrees cafe (sorry Benj, I know I've been talking them up for weeks) but the sausage sanger was a pretty good substitute.
I took my leave of Benj after a few more miles and let him carry on Eastwards, as I headed home happy that my knee had got me that far; the stretching and physio I've been doing since it started playing up a couple of weeks ago seems to be working.

Got stopped by the police near Catford Halfords but it was only to offer to security code my bike. 5 minutes standing in the sunshine = job done.

  • No ride for me today. Even a trout would be apprehensive about leaving the house. Will just have to hope the deluge lets up later in the day and i can get a quick sprint to keep me sane...

  • This was fun yesterday. Lovely little route. Saw lots of Paragon guys out, which made me think I must be on the right track. One slightly sketchy incident with an oncoming car deciding to U-turn in front of me as I was coming down Anerley Hill at 30mph. Otherwise pleasantly uneventful.

  • Llandegla, steady red route with gf, then faster black route whilst J had a kip in the van. At start of 2nd loop realised I'd ridden the red with suspension locked out, hadn't noticed a great difference tbh... Top day out, the cafe there is awesome. Had started day seeing Olympic torch before we left Manchester, was brief but glad we made the effort in a way.

  • too fat?

  • Yep, too much cake.

  • what actually happened? Presumably not highly explosive diarrhea?

  • I saw what I thought to be a slice of cake just off the trail, and dived into the trees after it.

Purely coincidentally I may have been going downhill, on a damp track, which both steepened and curved left- so I (in a very schoolboy fashion) locked the front wheel and went straight off the track. After the cake.

  • It looks good when muddy. Is it still straight?

    Hope the cake was good.

I had a wardrobe malfunction whilst in the hills today. I need to learn some new tricks for carrying food as I'm destroying all my jersey pockets.

  • Moped around looking at new bike I can't ride due to injury. Pathetic muscles......

I don't know if it's still straight- I put it in the stand then ignored it for the rest of the evening.

I'll strip it down tongiht (if I can be bothered) and find out.

It'll get expensive if I've bent the frame.

  • Fingers crossed...

  • Cannondale cyclocross bikes for 2013 are disc...

  • I rode by this pub. Great name: http://www.thefrogatskirmett.co.uk/

  • I had a lovely ride at the weekend - fitted a rear rack and panniers to the 29er and went off for a pootle around, see if anything fell off/rattled......

Sorry, I don't have a fancy graph/GPS log for it - trust me though when I say it was 2 miles of epic house to bike shop to coffee shop to house action. Fair knackered me as well.....could hardly bring myself to eat me brownie for sweating.....

  • Worked Sat pm so to make up for it today pm spent at the outdoor bmx track in the sunshine as lieu time.

  • I'm not your boss ;)

  • If you were it wouldn't be toil, just part of working day...

  • Went out to check out White Down Ln. today, quite a nice hill. Ended up for a 60mi ride.

Are there any longer hills around though? That can be recommended.

  • Cheers dammit and Friday.

  • Fingers crossed...

92cm back of headtube to centre of dropout, on both sides.
