@Oliver Schick near Chipping Ongar, those quiet back lanes are the reason for cycling out into the countryside. I have seen remnants of flytipping before, but nothing like this.
To mirror what PSmith stated.. my heart just sank when we came across this debris across the road

Looking for the entrance to a byway of legend, I ask an old crone.
“It’s just back there through Ted’s front garden”
Can I cycle it?
“I imagine you will enjoy it on that bicycle”
Crone was right

got up at 6 and did what for me is a big ride. 40m, some on road some off. lovely lanes up past Henley, then a loop round onto the ridgeway. fueled by a cider and a cheese sandwich.

I rode through Henley this afternoon. I though the giant yellow duck and string quartet playing on a pontoon moored to said duck was a nice touch....

Looks moist indeed.
I hope that was not the bit you liked the most. -

That lane is often target of fly tipping unfortuntely.

Long weekend for us as it's school holidays and I took the bike down with me to Victor Harbour. Sunday ride I was supposed to get rain but it was only 1 minute of light drizzle during a 2hr gravel loop, then yesterday nearly 18 degrees and perfect conditions for a flat 90min cruise along the shore with some light gravel paths thrown in. Keep in mind this is the middle of winter for me.

Did some bike in the South London hinterland bridleway and foot path networks. With Andy P.
Garmin didn't record it. Was good. Lumpy, rocky, up and down hill. Getting pain in the ball of my foot is not pleasant. -

I had a 3/4 sleep pad and that was fine.
But I got wet early on (was outside the canopy initially, because people were using the canopy until late) so didn't use my down stuff.
So I was cold to begin with. Missus was toasty with her full sleep pad and full down bag and waterproof full bivvy. We just need a bit more kit, this was a bit of a rush so we compromised what we took. If we do again, I'll need another full bivvy and another full sleep pad and either a tarp for those or a tent for the both of us that we can actually use in the rain.

Didn't visit any breweries, though I did talk about Tring and Mad Squirrel breweries at some point (I think we in Tring Woods at like 8am so even if we wanted to go.. ).
We get their beers here actually but I do have brewery tour in my mental todo list. I used to ride past a few breweries on my TT training loops but never stopped at any (Rebellion, Chiltern, Tring off the top of my head)
Then Stayer 1 ride yesterday with a mate...
