This guy had me cracking up yesterday, though if it was me I probably would have had to turn round and ask him politely to STFU.

I can't take credit for the phrase ... the writer of "Big Ring Riding" coined it.No they didn't. "Pain Cave" has been around for years.
ie. 2007..

Cadel likes " U2, R.E.M., Hunters and Collectors, Paul Kelly, Crowded House, Enya, Eurythmics"
"Big ring"? hippy's arse
"pain cave"? "slightly discomforting crevice" more like.

Haha.. thank fuck his riding doesn't follow his music collection.
Who the fuck admits to liking Enya? I mean.. really?!

as for explaining the "big ring attitude", i've also got friends who find this impossible to comprehend, one example being "it doesn't get any easier, you just go faster". The amount of people who just couldn't get their head round the idea that even when you improve you don't let up and push yourself as far as you can, you're physical improvement just means that for the same effort you go faster. i swear it wound me up for so long.
big blog.

You softies. This is Cadel putting himself in the pain cave. What could be more obvious?

I've never not been disappointed on learning about a favourite sports person's taste in music. I'm beginning to think sporting prowess and decent taste in music are totally mutually exclusive.

At least now I know what he means when he says he's "targeting the pink".. ;)

You could be onto something here, dooks. Wiggo likes shit music. Who else?

Ahh but he thinks Tintin is brilliant so it negates his shite taste in music. Just.
OK maybe not

Pendleton claims to like Radiohead's the bends. I got her ahead by a lot at this stage.
I seem to remember Lance tweeting (eugh) about indie-ish compilations someone had done for him in his pre '09 tour training which actually contained some good new stuff... but I bet he listens to Bon Jovi when he's home alone... or Nickleback. Or Evenescence.
Edit: I always took Wiggo's shit haircut and daft off-duty togs as an indication of his Weller obsession but at least he's into his soul too.

His dating of Sheryl Crow surely speaks volumes.
Yes. I edited my last post on later reflection but i think you've just nailed that one.

From an oldish interview with Cav - most sucessful British Pro- in Cyclign Weekly
"Favourite music from DJ Tiesto to Ghosts and Rihanna"
I think that blows your theory out of the water.
-
• #46
Well it was only a theory.

Well it was only a theory.
Tis true, and theories are there to be disproved.
I don't think there is a person on this board who wouldn't agree that DJ Tiesto represents the pinnacle of music output since its invention.

Pendleton reportedly listens to the fat of the land by the prodigy before taking her rivals down.

Armstrong was forever touting some band, called The Wallflowers if memory serves. I've never heard any of their stuff but can imagine it's inoffensive middle of the road American rock.

Making up 58 seconds in 15 miles, at an average speed of 34.5 mph. Awesome.
I quite like Cadel now. Have done since that attack at Mendrisio.
At least he can see the funny side of his outbursts:
