don't be a knobber nuknow
Wicksie has taken on the thankless task of gettin a LFGSS cap produced, what are you doing to get things done?
yup I think some of the designs are funny but let's break it down
your cinelli cunt cap
The shell of the cap can't be screenprinted so - you'd have to dye subliminate a polyester material and people have specifically asked for cotton so you'd have to get a 'special making' of the material and for bespoke like that you're looking at a minimum of 1000metres which you'd have to organise getting done in China, Mexico or romania and is going to cost a stink load - the peak of the cap would have to have 5 screens made - each of those screens incurs it's own costhow many of the cinelli caps you going to shift - a rough costing on that design if you managed to shift about 500 of them would be about 20-25 notes cost to you and you're going to have to pony up 500x20 pounds to the manufacturers
It's a ballache getting anything manufactured and there's a reason why things look simple - my challenge to you is to come up with a design that only uses 1 colour/1 ribbon or 2 colours
or help wicksie with the project…

Thanks Wayne.
Although I don't really want his help.I was only being as serious as you were. I gathered you half meant it, so did I.
The 'only worrying about where' to make the caps isn't as simple as picking a manufacturer from the internet and sending them the designs, especially since there are many people on here with big opinions and having a lot of people will be very hard to please them all.
And people have expressed that they want quality, which in itself posses a problem with our short print run.
Having a ribbon and different colour ways poses further problems so again I can't just go with the first manufacturer.
To this end I have requested samples from many suppliers, most of them are abroad so they will take a while to be delivered. Those that have arrived so far aren't any good.
I'm assuming people would still like me to wait to find the right supplier rather than sending them off to any old manufacturers. So you can have them quick and shit or wait and better quality?

I just got some samples back from Champion System today... Their small cap is really nice but too small, more like a skullcap fit... It's made out of the same stuff they make skinsuits from, three panels and nice towelling band inside to keep the sweat off/avoid creases on your dome... The larger fit cap is quite nice, obviously still a synthetic material but feels much closer to cotton... Four panels, I'd wear it... I'll have the samples with me at polo if you're about tonight, Joni, have a looksy... Just took a pic but waiting for it to upload to Flickr...

I have some samples already Joe, thanks mate. Got a winter cap too.
IMO they're not very nice. The material is polyester and besides that, they can't print ribbons so no good.
I'm sourcing cotton caps as I thought that was the consensus.I think I've found an excellent supplier in London whom I'm meeting this week.
Fingers crossed.I'll obviously keep you all update so people don't think I'm being tardy.

I'll shove my 'walking cane' up your stink-pipe in a minute, amigo mio...
See how you like those cebollas... ;x
O'RLy!?Why?... I'm sorry if I sound too harsh, but there's not even
a decision on what to produce, only worries about where... to make what?
Another cycling cap with a ribbon, looking like 1576 others.
And I only 'asked' you Wicksie because I assumed you were 'managing' the all thing,
but it was something in a chilled way, no need for too much agitation.
As you were.
