I was skinsuited for the commute today.
Perfect weather for it, and somewhat relieved not to be wearing black in this heat.
Would love a white cap that compliments the skinsuit TBH.
I also do love the 2nd batch LFGSS caps. I kept 10 back thinking I wanted them when my failed... but mine hasn't failed, it just faded over a hell of a long period of time. The LFGSS cap outlasted so many Rapha caps, LMNH caps, and other random caps.

lol I think this is my friend Noel.

Hey! I can definitely do it, you can pass me the file and I'll ask them!

Ah, sneaky.
Yes, I do. Fewer than 10.

Because we need an agreed design before we can hit manufacturing.
Feasible design first... then manufacturing.
Unless we want to re-run the existing design, in which case straight to existing factory (probably via @breso's help).
I guess the ball is with 6pt for a design.
Or if people just want the original again, we can do that.
-
• #2759
I would suggest a unilateral decision here, as design by committee is clearly failing

I'll give 6pt a chance to design something before reverting to the existing design.
He's only just come back from his honeymoon.

Typical designer slacker ...
:pPersonally I'd be interested in both a re-run of the original, as mine is looking pretty tired, as well as a new design

Indeed, a LFGSS Classics range and a LFGSS S/S 2016 range

Well now you're screwing with things :)
Minimum quantities vary by supplier, but are usually 100-150 caps.
Decent prices are usually met at steps in quantity... with the first good price coming in around the 300-400 mark.
If we split over 2 designs, it will split the runs and pricing... pushing up the price of both, and putting 1 of the designs at risk.
I usually order 400 and sell through over a greater period of time. With 1 design this is fine as it will sell through eventually. But if we move to seasonal designs, or multiple designs then we really need to move to the minimum quantities instead as holding a design long-term when we'll change seasonally becomes a risk (a risk backed by me paying a bill now that may never be covered by sales).
Initial orders are normally only in the 150-200 region... so only 1 design is likely to be feasible for minimum order quantities.
I'd rather commit to that in advance, not split the sales across 2 only to cancel 1 of them... and instead have 1 design for a longer period of time and increase the order amount to bring it down in price.

owayo custom price list > https://www.owayo.co.uk/cycling-caps/prices/pricelist.htm < not exactly expensive items, even at 10 pcs - so people could have their cake this year (gasp!)
why not start a list for existing design and use @croft kind offer, while the 'artisans' can mull over the finer points of kerning, etc. for next year (what am I saying, 2020 more like..)

No caps left I assume?
-
• #2766
So shall I drop them an email in the meanwhile or better wait?
-
• #2767
Wait for now.
-
• #2768
why not
Because as you said, I should just make a unilateral decision.
I have... we wait for Tom and a design, if he doesn't want to work on one we'll use the existing.

I would certainly have at least 1 of each (and likely 2 of the 'classic'). But I'm happy to go with Velocio on this.
-
• #2771
I'd also certainly buy both, but Velocio is correct that this needs executive action, and splitting the designs will likely lead to smaller orders and increased costs for both designs.
p.s. I know you need regular income far more than stochastic income, but I'm sure most people would happily pay a "forum upkeep tariff" on top of the cost of any caps, so maybe an order could be linked to the recent push for funds?

Nearly Belgium caps time :-)

We're planning for Spring/Summer 2017
As I said a few months ago. I deal with the kit for IslingtonCC so if I can lend a hand on the manufacturing side of all this, I'd be more than glad to.
I'm no designer, but do have a relationship with some factories and an understanding of the process.
