Well, I hope so but it's a bloody long way and much can happen... as I'm sure many a commentator has said before about many a rider. :)

Oh dear...
30km - Christian Vande Velde and Marzio Bruseghin involved in a heavy crash as the front group is strung out in single file as they ride along the coast.
25km - Vande Velde, who has finished fourth and eighth in the last two editions of the Tour de France, was holding his shoulder and has been forced to abandon. A big blow for the Garmin rider.
And it gets worse...
15km - A crash in the front group and four Sky riders are on the floor including Bradley Wiggins and Dario David Cioni, the Brit takes some time to get the chain back on his bike. Pablo Lastras Garcia is slow in gettting up...

Vinokourov gets the pink...

Today's stage sounds like carnage. Vande Velde out with a broken collarbone, for the second year in a row, Evans lost 45 seconds, Wiggins lost 4 minutes.
I bet Cavendish is enjoying the race though, Greipel was the best sprinter in that group yet he fucked it up again and could only come in 6th, adding more weight to the theory that he only wins shitty little races.
British neo-pro Adam Blythe was 5th.

Oh FFS...

heartbreaking for Vandevelde. Just as he was coming into his own, towards the end of his career, he's been so unlucky with crashes.

That Arstana suit on the podium was special bad,
He looks paler without the extra blood -

There's plenty that have doped/are doping, but at least with Vino you got some spectacularly attacking riding out of it. Just saying.

I loved his attacking in the TdF Lance years, made some stages very exciting.
Did lose a lot of respect after he was sprung,
And he does look paler.....just saying -

Pale and interesting, erm, FTW.

Seems to be working for him, I wasnt expecting to see much of him or Astana really.
I wonder if they all had to bus it on the rest day? -

He's been flying - Trentino & L-B-L showed he's got form at the moment. Feel free to interpret 'form' any way you see fit.

is it still on? I can't find a single stream but eurosport's schedule says it finished at 4.30

I loved Cav's response to Greipel's suggestion that Cav would be off to Sky next season. He said that Greipel had better hope that he didn't go for if he did, Greipel would win nothing as he would always be up against Cav.

That's a very straight course, I wonder if a couple of tight corners at the end might catch a few people out?

Just saw Cadels team start, pretty wet.
Will an Aussie be in pink at the end? That's the question.
