• You might recognise someone in the opening titles..

You a lot, Mothergirl a bit, and was that Overdrive?
I shouted, 'hey that's Brave' and Bobbinbird thought I had just seen a feat of amazing courage.

  • And I am 1.47 seconds faster on the rollers than GRAEME FUCKIN OBREE!

  • Anyone watch The Cycle Show? What a load of shit

  • I think it will be staying on itv4 for a while...

  • If they're lucky they may get promoted to Channel 5

  • Someone needs to get those cap-wearing, coffee-loving hipsters to shut the f*** up while they're filming...

  • If the folks filming wanted peace and quiet, they'd film in a studio. It's asking a bit much to ask everyone in quite a busy cafe on a very busy day to be quiet and put your life on hold so someone can film a show.

  • was it your job to keep them quiet mick? is that the real reason you're leaving?

  • Curses! Foiled again!

  • Here are some photos from the day, including Obree, Fisher and some wildly happy people. Which is nice!:

  • Mick just stayed long enough to meet Nigel Mansell.
If I had known he was there I might have stayed too.

  • interesting programme
mansell fischer and obree on the couch made for an interesting panel of diverse backgrounds careers and ambitions ... fischer off to italy to ride his mountain bike ... lucky man
that bike obree is building looked very dangerous
hope he can control it at 90mph .... i guess it will get more stable through gyroscopic forces as it speeds up but slow speed wobble looked scary

Yes, but they were taking the mick this time.

  • To say it was "clunky" is doing it a favour. The whole idea is Top Gear style but that means they have to shut up the "audience" and hook them in, as well as the viewer. Difficult filming on Sunday after such a historic TdF but the director and floor manager needed to HTFU and shut people up.. Next week might be better.. Might be.. If you can feedback on twitter @thecycleshowtv or the Facebook page please do.They are listening and "our" feedback can make all the difference (they know the power of LFGSS above any other forum believe me).. And having a show about cycling on TV, good or bad, is better than no show at all..

  • .

  • are the shows live or pre recorded in other words how do i get my ugly mug on'tele ?

Hang around, drink espresso, look "bikey".

    +1

  • floor manager needed to HTFU and shut people up..

Floor manager had already lost the crowd by turning off he commentary on TdF and only putting it back on when the crowd got all late 18th century Parisian with him.

Was always going to be a tough job on Sunday.. But it's his job after all..

  • the director and floor manager needed to HTFU and shut people up

It's got nothing to do with the floor manager though. There was a film crew who had reserved a space to film a show on a day where they knew it was going to be very loud. If they wanted a crowd full of people who would be loud when and only when they wanted. They should've hired the whole cafe and filled it with people they could tell what to do. From the cafe point of view it's not a great way of showing how valued their custom is by telling them to be quiet because despite regularly giving your money to the place for quite a long time, it would be appreciated if they could shut up so that this film crew who are here for a day can get their filming done.

If you want the crowd to pander to your every whim, hire the whole cafe and sell tickets to be in the audience. If not, accept that there will be a lot of background noise (it's London's biggest cycling cafe on the final day of the Tour de France where a Briton is going to win it for the first time in history, use your fucking head) and deal with it.

Or am I the only one who thought that?

P.S. Hope the show does well, but it won't do so without quite a few improvements.

  • more importantly are you selling ice creams today?
