Never proven that Max Sciandri doped. However he was a client of Cecchini.
Sciandri set up BC's Italian base that saw Cav and G come through amongst many othersThere's loads of ex-pros who've had murky pasts working with young riders. I'd much rather have someone who's up front about his past than someone who's still trying to hide it.

I work with someone who's convinced that Greg Lemond was at the vanguard of doping - discuss.
-
• #4704
I bet they love Lance Armstrong?
-
• #4705
Well, no, this is the point: he reckons that Lance Armstrong carried on and refined what Lemond started. He makes the valid point that EPO didn't suddenly spring out of nowhere, but with Lemond???

he was a client of Cecchini
Which is enough to get you a ban now.

There is zero evidence to support a theory that Lemond doped. Absolutely zero. This despite the likes of Armstrong and his acolytes looking to dig up as much dirt as possible on him.
There are very few pro cyclists I'd put my hand in the fire for being clean, Lemond is top of that list.

That's what I said. In fact, in response, I asked him if he thought that 9/11 was an inside job.

^^^ Greg Lemond phoned my ex-wife once.
That's all the evidence that I need.

If there's one person I believe, it's Lemond.

I think the world of Lemond.

Not bad for a 2nd cat tho :)

As far as I know, Lemond wasn't a client of Ferrari, Conconi or Cecchini.

UCI calling for a lifetime ban and 50,000 € fine for Femke Vandendriessche because of the motorbike at this year's CX Worlds.
Wow. I understand they want to set an example, but this is a 20 year old whose career has already been possibly ruined for ever, why not a 4 or even 2 year ban and big fine?
-
• #4721
because using a motor once will not have a lifetime effect on performance, where as doping will have an effect upon the rest of a cyclists career
UCI logic is awesome
-
• #4722
I think blanket lifetime bans should be in place but with more transparent and effective investigations and processes.
Doping of all kinds would drop overnight simply because the risk becomes too great.
Now that I've solved that, I hope Femke is offered and takes an out of grassing up whomever (probably her father) who put the idea in her head and supplied the hardware in exchange for a partial amnesty against her ban and the fine.
That may be too sensible though.

Simple. Because that's not long enough to deter people from cheating.

Sharapova!

Same substance as Vorganov. She should've claimed she snogged him in a nightclub.
I thought that too.
Known dopers have worked at BC haven't they?
