A mate of mine who played for a Rastafarian football team said that most the players swore by a bit of dope before and during the match to keep them going.

This is why there's no point releasing data like that, given the legion of 'experts' ready to dissect it. I'd prefer to hear what Ashenden thinks of it

ummm, one of the guys on the UCI bio-passport panel who reviews actual passport results alongside Ashenden (before Ashenden resigned) has also said if this had been referred to him he would have flagged it as suspect immediately.
-
• #2662
Sounds like the software used to refer cases to panel members wasn't written or commissioned by anyone who knew the subject.
-
• #2663
Or, more likely, was commissioned by exactly the kind of person that knows the subject.

In a totally unprofessional manner. Quite why he felt the need to go on the record on a shit site like Velonation is beyond me, even if he did caveat most of what he said.
I know there is a majority that wants Horner to be busted, but there's a system in place, that everyone has signed up to, and, unless they open a case soon, we have to assume that Horner hasn't failed a test or been cited under the bio passport scheme.

Like Lance?

I doubt Horner has the protection that Lance had.

There was no bio passport when LA did the majority of his doping
-
• #2669
If there was, he would've paid them off anyway.
-
• #2670
By the time bio passport was introduced, LA no longer had to bribe the UCI, because he had plenty with which to blackmail them. That $125,000 might have been the best investment he ever made.

Erm sorry, did you just say that Hesjedal was busy cranking up his hematocrit level in Rasmussen's basement for MTB WC2003?

If true thats a huge disappointment. . .
-
• #2673
Really? He rode for US Postal too. I'd be more surprised if he hadn't doped.
I'd be more surprised if he was doping now, given the Garmin stance.
-

Rasmussen's book will be interesting.
One surprising thing about Hesjedal is that he didn't come out along with the other Garmin riders last year. I know he wasn't under USADA jurisdiction, but it continues the drip feed of doping stories that I thought Vaughters was keen to avoid.

Riis will survive the fall-out, as per normal.
5 of the Jamaicans that "won" medals in 2012 have since tested positive.
