  • Really? It was 5/6 years ago, he was 18, it was not banned, and it was part of the German olympic training programme (it seems). Your threshold for cunt is pretty low.

    It's a cunt's list.

  • Hippy is about as British as Chris Froome.

I've seen his British Passport- another great Victory for Britain over the forrins!

  • I think it's obvious that this UV blood doping gave Kittel some sort of super human blood - a bit like Spiderman - with which he continues to reap the benefits. There is not other rational reason as to how he would have beat Cav.

  • Hurray for the brits.

    [/doping allegations]

  • Needless to say if the rules weren't broken Kittle can't (and shouldn't) be done for blood doping. But if not performance enhancing, what exactly is the purpose of this treatment?

    just asking...

  • See above. Spiderblood

  • Thank fuck Kittel isn't a Sky rider... the whole internet would explode with doping conspiracies.

    Read Andy's link.

The statement provides specific information of when it says the riders were treated. It said that Kittel visited the doctor in both 2007 and 2008 when he was feeling ill, and that he was given with the UV light treatment.

“He [Dr. Franke] took a very small amount (a few cc) of blood from the body via a syringe and put this under UV lighting immediately to fight the infection in the blood. This blood was subsequently reinserted into the body. The entire treatment did not take more than a few minutes. It did not involve an infusion or transfusion.

“Scientists doubt the effectiveness of this method. Nevertheless, the treatment is customary in Eastern Europe and is also performed on non-athletes who suffer from an infectious disease.”

  • Ta!

  • I still love you Kittle

  • Has anyone mentioned the new National 24h TT champ yet...who the hell is he and where did he come from? I wanna see power data.

I heard he took pills in order to finish. Sources close to the team have mentioned "Rennies" being requested by the rider on the finishing circuit.

  • Thank fuck Kittel isn't a Sky rider... the whole internet would explode with doping conspiracies.

Sky's on ketone drinks and using bloodflow restriction training. Probably.

The UKSI head of R&D Scott Drawer twitter feed is a goldmine of research papers.

    I actually live in Britain.

I had Rennies the other night after a curry and various homebrews. I'm a winner too.

  • So what time is the French Senate list coming out tomorrow? Voigt anyone?

  • dst is JT AICMFP.

  • What are the odds on Boardman?

  • Extremely long.

  • He retired at 32 due to a type of osteoporosis. He could've taken testosterone to treat this but was, somewhat ironically, refused a TUE by the UCI's medical board in the aftermath of the 1998 Tour.

I think it speaks volumes that he chose to retire rather than cheat.

  • Just read the Walsh peice from the Times. Pretty shocking to read what was happening to Sky and their riders on the Alpe, Irish and Dutch fans in particular baying for blood, rocking the team car at one point, and squirting Froome with liquid from oversized syringes, some of which went in his mouth. He punched that chap in the face. Also just watched a youtube video of a French fan attacking Sky staff after he backed his campervan into a team car. He physically assaulted two Sky staff, shouting stuff about juice and anti-Englpish comments.

Makes you wonder why they fucking bother really, Sky that is, if those are the sort of reactions they illicit. It's more like following football in the 80s. I am disappoint.

    Pretty ugly viewing really

  • Totally disgraceful!

  • These events, in my limited experience, are exceptions rather than rules. 99.999% of the people are lovely. And there's no shortage of Sky fanboys lining the roads.

  • Well my experience is even more limited and I can't say we caught this on the TV coverage, but this being the first Tour post Lance the aggression towards the riders themselves is a worrying trend, and I would suggest a direct hangover from that.

Did the tone of the conversation elicit a Freudian slip there?
