Well, I'll make the final decision tomorrow, to get the latest weather forecast, but if nobody has any major objections, it looks like Sunday is the better day at the moment.

Top Tip - never ever ever get drunk on a Friday or Saturday night. If you are going to sit around hungover and useless make damn sure it's on your bosses time not yours.
you make a good point. but being hungover at work only means I end up doing what I had to do another time...like in my evenings. I do it occasionally.

Ha, the weather has changed, looks like it's back to Saturday at the moment. We'll see tomorrow:
-
• #36
saturday looks like a winner, no?
-
• #37
you just want your hangover day...
-
• #38
it's always best to ride off a hangover anyway. lounging and wallowing never solved anything...

Yeah Saturday it is. That way if it suddendly pisses it down tomorrow morning, we can still delay it if need be, but at the moment it's looking much better.

Might come along to this as well, have to give the bike a look over tonight to make sure it would last that distance ;) The tires are a bit used, and don't have any spares :(

At the moment I'm still in.
Won't make it down to Royal Inn on the Park, but will meet up at the Princess of Wales (next to the canal, Clapton, on the Lea Bridge rd) at 11.10. I'm guessing it will take 10 mins for you to get that far.
Going to go as far as Waltham Abbey, stop for lunch, then back down the canal, as I want to catch the FA cup final.
And I'm going to be on my old mountain bike.

That's fine, but bring a spare inner tube at the very least. I will have a pump and levers on me if you can't bring that.

Cool, depending on when people turn up, we may be there a little later. I'll pm you my number so that you can call me if needed.
I have to admit I forgot it's the FA cup, but I don't really care anyway. How far we go really depends how far people want to go, we will see when we get there.

I saw a fixie wixie couple riding up past Tottenham marshes just the other day, matching red and blue lo-pros, courier bags and incredibly slow....how romantic.
Erm, that sounds like Jakub and Pavel; both men and certainly not a couple. And both very, very fast when they were couriers. Though if there is a couple on red and blue low-pros I'd love to get them together with J and P; that would be quite a sight.

Pavel is the fifteen stone, heterosexual, guy who, when he saw the man who had nicked his bike a few weeks earlier cycling down a quiet side street knocked the man off, kicked him a few times and then jumped up and down on the guy's bike till it was unrideable. So you might want to reconsider what you think you saw..... :)

Hope you all get to do this ride- it's well worth it and perfect for a warm spring day, though fast it is not.
I've done it previously with 50/14 and separately with Tika and Dicki. The Crown pub on the bend of the river at Broxbourne is a perfect refreshment stop/endpoint with big sun-struck garden .It's also on the rail line.
A word of warning to Sasmon + young passenger - some of the paths are pretty bumpy because of of 'cycle-calming' cobbles and 'sleeping anglers' so make sure the kiddy carrier is well dampened!
I'll be shut-up indoors though. Enjoy yourselves !
Im being forced to work saturday, but im trying to see if i can move it. If its saturday and i cant move it, obviously ill be out.
