No worries, you're welcome. I seriously do want the beginners teams to do well and get stuck into the game, everyone is a beginner at some point and needs encouragement.
Who knows, maybe they'll make some cheesy film in the future about a bike polo team of some beginners, taken on by a manager who's all washed up but wants to recreate the glory days... who just manages to get the team into the worlds... and who knows what might happen next? etc etc.
+1 Kev, everyone loves an underdog, psychlone and rusty rims for the final!!

Ha bring it Alex.
That's cool Kev, nice of you too ask. I think you're right about the beginners session dedication, it's awesome. Give it a go and use this thread if you like. If anyone wants the loaner however they'll have to come and get it.
Inkmitts was looking for somewhere to do beginners on Sundays so drop her a line.
Will see if I can make it but 4 sessions in one week might be pushing it for me.
Shout me if you need extra balls and mallets too matey. -
• #954
hey kev, you should grab 5 people you feel comfortable enough to play with on whatever night, souths, norths, just be vocal and say "can i swop these mallets around so that i play in a game that hasnt got so much pace?" Seriously we all know you've had an injury.

+1. Nice B.
I think there was one instance / game that put you off ( I could be wrong ) which is a shame if that's the case.
I think there were some games last night at Souths that you would have been comfortable in. -

I think there was one instance / game that put you off ( I could be wrong ) which is a shame if that's the case. There were a couple of times I just got really freaked out at Newington on a Wednesday when people were going in hard or fast for the ball. I wasnt enjoying it. Turd was saying to me that its better just to be patient, your health is more important than some game of polo, but it is frustrating having to wait, especially at stuff like the tourneys, I enjoyed watching and helping out at the Open but at the same time I was really pissed off at having to miss it.
Good idea skoota but I couldnt be doing that for the entire session on a Wednesday, I am sure other people would want to play in faster games (as would I if I was up to it). I was at one Tuesday at Q Road and all the games were a nice, easy pace, which was just about the limit of what I could handle without being a nervous paranoid wreck.
If people are interested in a Sunday session I might come down to Dulwich and get the loaner off you Wicksie. I got two mallets but could always use more. I got four balls off crack fox last weekend so thats sorted.
If people are interested, that is....? Anyone...? Anyone....?

So.... what time this sunday?

We NEED team practice so who's up for some early-ish games on Saturday? Haz is in complete with new (old) bike, so assuming it's not pishing down, let's get some team games in.

I am an utter beginner but will be at Newington on Sunday :)
-
• #964
Kev, I'll be up for a lazy sunday session at newington.
I may be thoroughly hungover though...Dean

• #965
I was going to suggest the team practise on Sunday rather than Saturday, but I'd have thought the Rusties will be in no state to leave the house after Sat night.
-
• #966
If there is a session on Saturday morning for beginner teams to practice then maybe I could sub in for someone to make up the numbers? If you lot are going to be hungover (?) on Sunday then maybe tomorrow might be better. Would we have the numbers though? Not much piping up here. Joni have you got numbers for people not on the internets?
-
• #967
Dean I still owe you an inner tube. Will bring it with me if tomorrow happens.
-
• #968
Newington as in Stokey?
I might be up for the sunday sesh but what time is early?
Oh, and it's meant to piss down tmrw early and again at midday-ish.
-
• #969
No, Newington Gardens, Harper Road, SE1.
I was thinking 11.30am or so on Sunday.

Yeah it's mean to rain Saturday.
All 3 beginner teams need to practice for the league so might be an idea to keep it separate from throw in's Kev if that's ok.
But I'm sure we'll have enough for Sunday.
Let's see who responds and see what the weather's doing at the weekend. -

Yeah thats no problem at all. I was just saying that if only 8 out of the 9 players can come, I'd be happy to sub in.
Met Office for Saturday:
Saturday:
Any residual overnight rain will soon clear away, leaving a breezy morning with sunny spells and scattered showers. Through the afternoon the wind will ease as the showers die away. Maximum temperature 13 °C.
