  • See ya Saturday, will bring cordless drill.

    I am a GD.

...and I want to come on Sat to London Fields and next Tue to Peckham again... dep. on my Polo Bike being finished by then. Need someone who can drill a 8 or 8.5mm hole in an 'Avid' brake lever...

  • See ya Saturday, will bring cordless drill.

Oh cool. I might have found a solution by then, bit of change of plans. But I'll let u know.

Re the Graphic Designer: Shall I make a flyer? If yes, let me know what should be on it! Though won't be much time for copying (no other way of producing will work) until the weekend.

  • Think kit and I will stay play Sunday... Necessity.

Ben - what time is Saturday beginners likely to finish? I'm not around til 2.30

  • Might be able to join you Sunday if we can get 3 others?

I've asked in the main thread, apparantly there are already some flyers being made, though not with info about beginners on them. Another idea was to make beginner business card style handouts, something simple with times, location and link to the thread. I don't know if we could get them done by the weekend but they'd be quite useful anyway. No idea on the cost of that sort of thing, might see what the lhbpa funds are like...

  • Good luck, although now you have a super sub you won't need it! Miss you guys

Anyone up for Sunday afternoon polo at Newington? Kit and I haven't played for a while and we want to practice before two leagues games on Monday.

    Sunday 15th

    2.Kit

  • made this quickly... could be that business card - and could be produced quickly using stronger paper/card, a copier and a guillotine...

  • Just to say that you should probably speak to Josh, the chairman of the LHBPA because we have official logos and an association that should be aware of our 'branding'.

    PM Cohen.

    Sorry to be a kill-joy.

  • that's alright... I was guessing...
What is the 'main' thread by the way?
Paul, did you find out anything? Shall I ask what's required?

  • ^^just out on interest but is branding that important? surely getting people interested and playing is more important.

  • We have an association which does a hell of a lot for the sport including raising awareness. We have elected committee members for various divisions, and I would say that you shouldn't just chuck any old flyer out.

We had a long drawn out process to decide on our branding, which resulted in a great logo and there are other factors that can't be known to everyone, hence a committee.

eg. I think the association want all traffic pointed at www.lhbpa.org rather than the forum.

Obviously we all agree that getting new players is important, but this can still be done in-line with the rest of our image. As I said, just run is past Josh, the chairman.

  • btw, now is a great time to join the LHBPA.
It costs £5 a year and because of the association we can get mallets, balls, tournaments and free access to the London Bike Show this weekend (if there are tickets left!)

It's a great cause and helps promote the sport.

  • done.
Do I go to the bikeshow with the payment receipt?

  • Message "John h" or "Cohen" they'll sort you out... Although they are in the excel centre now...

  • Cohen = Josh, right?

  • I'll see if I can talk to Josh at the weekend, I get the idea of directing traffic at the lhbpa website, but it does seem impractical seeing as all discussions and organising goes on here.

Also thedutch, some of the info on the card would need to be changed: London fields polo isn't yet a regular thing, and we need to put some emphasis on checking this thread, we don't want people turning up in Peckham with no one else there.

I'll definitely make sure I talk to Josh before anything gets finalised.

  • Yup, and the reason Paul is cowhen :)

  • Does Tuesday nights really not kick off till 8pm? Pah...I had it in my head it was earlier than that. Want to start going to Peckham but would have to hang around at work for a bit which I'm really not keen on.

  • Ooo, that's another thing, it starts at 7 not 8...

  • Hurrah! An hour makes quite a difference on a school night..

  • I was just typing down a first proposal... 7 is ok, no L'Fields also, check forum first - ok. Waiting for more from you, Paul - if 'my services are required ;)

ps. Anyone going to the bike show tomorrow?

  • I am

  • fuck you anti caps

  • wait, what thread am i in?
