  • does anyone want to take the poloaner home? I'm running out of space at home (it's in my bedroom at the moment!) :/

  • How was America, Tom?? And we have missed you soooooo much!!! FACT!

  • We can work out who takes the poloaner back today (Tenderloin/kitjm/whoever), if needs be I'll ghost it back but I don't have the room really. If someone can turn up with out a bike then they can take it, all will be well.

  • cool, will be down there about 7:30ish anyway

  • And kev, I'll take that mallet tomorrow, only got 2 spare atm.

  • Its yours CowHen. Please find it a good home.

  • Don't you just hate it when people refuse to sign up here and get you to put there names on the list every week? But since I am super nice, I keep doing it week after week. :-P

Keep doing it. Threads need good administrators / organisers / list makers!

  • ^ I don't mind doing it, but someone once told me the things around here is too complicated to understand??

  • Its not that hard to follow. People need to use their brains a bit. Doesnt happen much on the internet though...

But yes, keep doing the lists. You and CowHen are fighting for the New Wicksie title.

Send me a text tomorrow afternoon or I might forget to put it in my bag.

  • in terms of the poloaner, i live in peckham may be the easiest, takes me like 5 to get back

  • Kev, PM me your number.

Kitjim, that'd be great, see you in a bit, just about to leave.

CowHen and I could co exist, we love each other, innit, Paul?? I think Paul is doing a great job, so I am happy to be his little assistant. After all, it's our polo tues!! :-)

  • For buying poles and heads, HERE.

  • Cool stuff yesterday, I'll be coming back again! Trying to organize a Mallet...

  • Just a thought, anybody is interested in having a group mallets building session or something? I know the theory of building one but me and tools don't get on. So if we get enough people who want / need to build their mallets and maybe someone is kind enough to bring the tools and lead the session? I am happy to sort out the actual materials (nuts/bolts, even heads and poles from John H).

If nobody is interested then I shall bother Rick again later on the week to have my other mallet built.

  • I've got all the tools - drill, etc. (and can handle them ;) , love to be in the session. Pole and pipe would be great, otherwise I'd try to get them from somewhere else. We could also do it on a Tuesday night?

  • I can't remember who I was talking to last night, but if you could get some cheap poles from a charity shop then it'd be great, but don't spend too much on ski poles, as poles are only £7 each from LHBPA. I have not yet any xperience using them, but they've been tested by many of the "big boys" aka experienced players.

I am likely to be heading up a group buy of THIS. I only have very little experience with them but I think the general comment is they are lighter but don't last as long? (Someone please correct me if I am bullshitting)

The heads from LHBPA are also great, I have yet to make my mallet with the one I bought.

So there are plenty of choices and I have too much time in my hands when I am in the office that I could really be practising polo instead. I hate my job.

So shall we start some lists of mallets making and stuff buying?

  • PM'd you about the black piping, after playing with it for just the one game it feels much nicer than the gas pipe.

  • CowHen, I have that spare in my bag.

  • Unemployment special: If anyone feels like a little practice weekdays during the day, get at me. I'm in Clapton but could travel.

Alternately, if anyone knows where I can get hired, that's the real priority.

  • Anyone interested? I can sponser the team with beer, cigarettes and pedal straps! Barry.

Are there going to be any more beginners teams for the league?

We are planning to start the league next week, so you really need to be registered by the end of this week.

It would be great to see you guys in the league. Tom? Fiona? Lish? Rick? Barry? Other people I've forgotton or don't know yet?

  • I think Fiona and Kit are looking?

  • YEEES.. I think we are.. though I'm not sure about the details, but alcoholic sponsorship sounds godly
