13 people.
This is the tournament John mentioned.
I think it would be an excellent intro to polo with the 'established players'.Join in, everyone at beginners is more than capable.

+1, come along to the tournament
You've really progressed since I was last there, those were some fun games tonight.
And well done Xander and Festus, you picked it up so quickly.

Thankyou so much for tonight. I really really enjoyed it and will definitely be down next week.
Managed to thread the hub on one side but should have that sorted by next week and will have a brake too!
Once again thankyou all and im looking forward to next time.

fuck, just ended up spending 60 quid on a new fixed disc hub. this polo business better be worthwhile....
-
• #2210
it is.
-
• #2211
Fixed?! Just wait until you're spending £60 on a WI freewheel.
Also, is Festus now playing because of the game he played on Sunday (his first I think?), that's awesome!
-
• #2212
Watching Festus and Xander, you wouldn't think it was just their first or second time playing.
-
• #2213
I can't wait to get my hub gear wheel done, playing on road gearing is no fun (well ok, its still fun, just less than it should be). Next week!!

A massive thank you to Arunas who apparently carries and entire bike shop in his bag.
The loaner was deemed a complete disaster area but then he miraculously made it work.Flip if you'd like to take him up on his offer of an overhaul on the loaner, then he works at Vaidas Bicycles in Honor Oak. 10mins from Peckham.
Likewise if anyone needs anything, this guy is a legend and he'll give you 10% (Join the LHPBA!)

Nothing fixed about that hub as far as I can see from the photo... looks like s/s with disc brake, no threads for a lockring.

freewheel ftw anyway!
-
• #2222
Thats what i thought, but i checked with them and that is just the photo that they were provided with. it is actually fixed

As a thought, since the games are getting very long with standards improving, perhaps we should adopt the '10 minute or first to 5' rule which is commonly used so there are no complaints?
-
• #2224
Any South beginners up for helping to launch the NE beginners session?
-
• #2225
I don't mind adopting the 10min rule. Certainly we should do this before winter as standing around in the cold sucked.
Unfortunately Jono I am in Italy that weekend but props to whoever did that poster.
I am become Mother Hen.
Will do my best.
