  • i have 2 frames going spare, and want a BMX....
    how tall are you?

would want to swap it for a complete polo bike really unless you'd want to buy the bmx which would fund a polo beater or maybe part exchange...

the bmx i have spare is a bit heavy and old by today's standards (american b/b, un integrated headset, 36/16 gearing) but bombproof with some very good parts on it, primo powerbite cranks, oddysey dirt forks, atomlab stem and a few other bits, some brand new even. I could probably put some better peds, seat and post on it that are on it at present, as i have them lying about. It's made up of parts I've since updated on my bmx with over time and a few more I got second hand and new to turn a cupboard full of bits into a bike.

    oh, i'm 5ft 6ish

  • ahhh.. all of my frams will be too big i think

  • iknows
    Bad's home game
    still waiting for Def confirmation.

    confirmed for 7.15

  • cool

  • Yeah feels like forever for me too!

I'll try to come watch the game... First time I'll have seen a league game at peckham, should be interesting!

Zoidberg, it's common for polo players to have flip flop wheels, with most drop outs you can get 4 teeth difference (some even manage six) which on a micro gearing is enough for say 40gi and 60gi (eg my road gearing is 26x12 for pretty much 60 gear inches and for polo I flip the back wheel for 26x17,40 gear inches)... My daily commute (normally) is 15 miles each way, bit more if i'm going via peckham... And i'm a fat old man! :)

  • so are we on tonight?

  • I'll head down for like 7, I reckon. I dunno, a friends bike is in pieces and I promised her it'd be road worthy for tomorrow. Joseph isn't coming cus he has a girlfriend now OoOoOOOOoOOoo etc.

    Rubbish you're not coming, rubbish's Joe's put tha hoe's before the polo's.

There at 7pm. Think there's at least 8 of us.

    Good times.

  • well i have excuse,
at least ma bitchez know polo comes first

  • Ya bitches being uni crap?

  • lol ^^

It's partly girlfriend, it's partly being too physically knackered to ride my 1:1.5 gear ratio in circles. Just getting use to the new job. Hopefully some dude from work will turn up in my place and I will deffo be there next week. Have fun and I envy you...

    ...all of you o_O
well if you're at polo I do.

  • Sandy, which chain tensioner ended up working best for you in the end? My next build will be with a vertical dropout frame.

UNLESS; Is there anything wrong with having a derailleur on the bike? Obvs I will only have one chainring, but if I could put a cassette on the back it will make the build, and my life on it as a commuter/polo hack, a lot easier.

  • There's nothing wrong with it, but it will probably get broken at some point. I'd get a compact cassette and the smallest profile derailer... But if you end up under a bike pile and the bike is on it's right you'll prob break the derailer or hanger... Wouldn't an internal hub be better?

Also I'm not certain but isn't a dished wheel going to be weaker?

After breaking 2 sprung tensioners by trying to get too much tension... I got a DMR fixed tensioner. Works great, although you have to remove it before taking a wheel off.It can push up or down.

  • That was good fun last night although I took a while to get into it.

Think I need to source me a polo bike and maybe a slide whistle to accompany comedy slams.

    Whut, James never falls off...

I need me some padded snowboard shorts. That stack fecking hurt and still does.

    Overkill?

at least it happened at the end and well played for getting on with it

  • That was some slick, greasy, slippery sh*t last night.
P-town dishin out a few thrills and spills.

I couldn't tell if I was bruised or just black with grease when i got home. Turns out it was a bit of both.

  • Pique is selling his Charge Scissor frame. Small, £170.
