this is a good idea.

will do DJ.
My plan of action-- Get full list sorted.
- Attempt contacting relatives
- Prepare route.
- Get route sanctioned on a particular day.
- Advertise ride everywhere, and get lots of people involved.
There won't be any free stuff, but if 400+ can turn up in tweed- I'd hope half could turn up for cyclist safety.
and i need help with all those stages and know more will be added. - Get full list sorted.

This is just an idea from looking at the geographical spread of the fatalities.
What about having N/E/S/W feeders passing by the outliers and then a gathering and ride around central? -
• #13
^ this is a good idea.
My original plan was to restart the Action group started by Ufrasia- have a meeting, sort out the planning stages, and get as many people involved in the planning as possible- so that things happen fast. -

I know its a bit early on but what do people think about wearing black armbands?
could be a very effective way of showing what were riding for
-
• #15
I'd again go for flowers, not armbands.

This is a good idea. Wow it's quite a high number. Shocking.
I'd say armbands is better but maybe black armbands with and optional flower?

If people wanted to mark any of the sites as yet unmarked, I can get bikes to paint as GhostBikes, we could take it in turns to ghost them to the scenes, we would need paint and locks, I'm sure I can get donations for those as well or we can have a whip around. Would anybody be able to make nice plaques to mark each one?
Feel free to shoot me down if this doesn't seem appropriate... -

Diggs, I'm with you on that. I'd suggest cutting the frame like the one outside Mosquito, perfect anti theft solution.
Oxford Street really needs one at the recent site (Near the TCR junction).
Additionally, Smudges ghostbike is looking a little sad right now.

.. Wow it's quite a high number. ....
just want to remind you that motor transport kills a lot more people than cycling. Obviously, there are more journies made ... but still. More people die driving than cycling.
OK- so as posted on Eilidh's (http://www.lfgss.com/thread16411-12.html) memorial ride it is time again for a show of community spirit like the ones we have shown in the past.
I don't know how to go about organising such a ride, so I am asking the forum populace for some help in the organisation.
There have been too many accidents and deaths this year and the deaths need to be recognised, so I propose that our ride include as many locations as possible.
Other than that I need the help to contact families, other cyclist organisations, and the relevant authorities.
Or at the very least the relevant contact details.
I had originally assumed we might be able to make it in late May, but this may not be the case and so a discussion of dates is also essential.
It should be a Sunday IMHO- because that way we can get the numbers that this ride deserves.
Many Thanks-
please email or PM me with suggestions and of course keep the thread moving.
