Another nasty crash, but only involving one person too
How?
-
• #428
Yes i really enjoyed it last night, apart from the *Kamikaze *kid who tried to take me out in the devil. Managed to not crash despite my front wheel lifting about a foot off the ground when we collided. -
Simon S crashed while sprinting for the line.

Blimey, is he OK?
-
• #430
Yes he just jumped up after the crash and was fine. Lots of rash. I was expecting alot worse as he was going so fast

Really enjoyed last night's session. The points race was brutal as was the 'unknown distance' race.
I felt surprisingly good in the points, only got a 3rd in a sprint, and did sit on your wheel for about half a lap! I meant to shout you to move up so I could help, but thought you must have been happy to chase!!! :-) That 'crash' was very weird, I saw it as I was leaving (was feeling tired) Seemed like he was trying to throw his bike over the line and his wheel turned. Went down hard, but I presume he's ok?

I saw him back on his bike later on. He was checking to see if his bike was ok. Had plasters on this knee's and elbows.

Lots of sprinting going on. Though I got caught napping in the match sprint :(
From what I saw, the match sp[rints seemed to raced more like 500 metre dashes straight from the line.

The first heats were 1 lap so yes. But the semi finals were 2 laps and I was caught out when one of the non sprinters made a break and Simon Lewis got right on him, I caught the last wheel but didnt have enough to get round 3 people :( Not that I would have got round Simon anyway, but I was disappointed not to get second

ah, I wasnt paying attention by then. You did well in the first round though. I should give the sprinting a go, I find it too nerve-racking!

Pretty poor write up!
the edited version is much better

Not mine. But I liked it all the same...!

Needs an edit, the king of the hill bit isn't working without the word "hill" but I like that!
The rest of it sounds like a cocky endurance rider having a pop ;)

the likes of Taylor, Lewis and Cook.
Not enough meat on this lot to feed a hungry cat!

It was an exciting read. I really felt like I was there. I wasn't keen on that feeling. I went back the TNRC thread.

I can't believe you've gone back to doing TTs up the Tottenham Court road of an evening, you showed so much promise.

Booooooooooooooooring.

ohh you found my missing points Jason. Thanks for checking that out.
Almost in the 10 ten pretty much exclusively from sprinting events :) -

Whoops, editorial oversight.

Almost in the 10 ten pretty much exclusively from sprinting events :)Iain's concocted a discpline specific rankings for our mid-season statistics special. I can report you are very highly ranked in the sprinters league.
They'll be up in a few days. stay tuned!

I really enjoyed this weeks report, but it was missing gems like these:
A disgruntled James Solly protested he wasn’t out on the last lap
James Solly was expected to dominate procedeedings. He looked very powerful in the scratch race... but faded slightly down the home straight
Just doesn't seem like track league without James' tales of woe.Think we can safely say Mike is Herne Hill's best 'Sprint Specialist'

Maybe there can be a "not living up to expectations" league?
I reckon I'd be in with a shout in the "inconsistent finisher league".

Whats keeping you?
Really enjoyed last night's session. The points race was brutal as was the 'unknown distance' race.
New bike feels good though!
